This week's football improvement drive is part of the WikiProject on Football and is a weekly collaboration to improve football (soccer) articles to featured article status. Past collaborations are found on the history page, while removed nominations may be found on the removed nominations page.
Nomination and voting
Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users in the "nominations" section below, with an explanation of what work is needed. To nominate an article, you can copy the template that you will below. Please do not nominate articles involved in edit wars. Each Sunday, the article with the most support votes is chosen. Opposing votes are not counted, the nomination is an approval voting. In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins. Articles need two votes per week to stay on the list. You can vote for as many articles as you like.
Renominating
An article that is removed from the nominations list for failing to receive the required number of votes by the stipulated date cannot be renominated till one month after the date it is moved to the removed nominations page.

Considerations for nominations
- Giving reasons as to why an article should become the Football AID may convince others to cast their vote.
- Can the wider football community easily contribute to the article? Or is it something only a small number of people will know about?

- Reason: After getting featured article status on the Norwegian Misplaced Pages, great portions of this article were translated to expand our article. It's quite detailed now. Perhaps with some work this could be a featured article in the future? Punkmorten 16

- Maybe a bit too many dead article links, allthough i understand that a lot of the names mentioned in the article are quite unimportant people, but some of them (like Tore André Dahlum, Ingvar Stadheim, Arne Larsen Økland, Tor Røste Fossen, F.K. Bayern Munich
- Nominated January 18 2006; needs at least 12 votes by February 28 2006
- Reason: Lacking in information for such an important team. Many other Bundesliga teams have substantially longer articles which is odd given that Bayern Munich is by far the most successful and most internationally known team in the league. The German article has much more information which could be easily incorporated into this article.

- I've been grinding my way through the German clubs alphabetically, using the available club list, and doing what I can to flesh out the articles for each team with re-writes, additional info, logos, that sort of thing. Done about three dozen sides so far – into the G's – but have only touched on a couple of the big clubs to date. Werder and Alemannia, I think. Freshened up the article on the Bundesliga, too. On a first pass through, I've been focusing on basic historical profiles and on incorporating whatever useful stuff might already be on the page, or in the German language page for the team. Tons of trivial information not relevant for the environment. Language often too informal, often too enthusiatic: this is not supposed to be another fan page! A major cleanup, focussing more on the major facts and less on story telling and nitty gritty, ist still needed.

- Huge support base in Bosnia+Herzegovina should also be mentioned when considering European countries. Maybe a sub- article on the significance of ultrAslan as well should be included. And a subsection maybe on the violence between Galatasaray fans and Leeds fans etc- many people see this event as an example of Turkish hooliganism, maybe an objective article providing various perspectives, similar to those on Turkey's accession into the European Union for example? melis3514

The root article of all articles in this WikiProject. Needs references, and some of the language could be simplified, as the article should serve as an introduction to those unfamiliar with the sport. Cricket is a good example of how to do this well. A productive AID could see this article ready for peer review.

FC Dynamo Kyiv
- Nominated February 3 2006; needs at least 2 votes by February 10 2006
- Reason:
The article is very incomplete for a highly publicized and renowned team like Dynamo Kyiv. It is the most dominant team in Ukrainian football as well as in the former Soviet Union. It won many championships and deserves more than just that tiny article.
