I have made this re-direction as many persons may be searching for information for Ancient Pakistan. As the modern state of Pakistan is hardly 6 decades old, and the territories now comprising Pakistan was part of Ancient India, this re-direction shall serve the purpose of knowledge seekers. --Bhadani 14:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Please create a page
Please create a page about Ancient Pakistan. I have reverted the edit as the redirection to Pakistan did not give the reader any fresh input. Moreover, the editor concerned has perhaps the habit of vandalizing wikipedia. Re: User talk:82.225.228.35. I would request the editors really interested in developing this page to create at least a stub of 200 - 250 words about Ancient Pakistan. As the geographical area comprising Pakistan was part of Ancient India, so a redirection to that page is in order. We are building an encyclopedia, and not fighting games of patriotism. --Bhadani 16:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
A request
- I am making a small request. We all are here to build an encyclopedia. We should edit with a view to build the Project. This is not the forum or place to display or nationalistic aspirations and patriotism. We should write the truth and do nothing to lower the credibility of wikipedia. Thank you and regards.
- I found that repeadly the page was redirected to Pakistan which was not a prudent redirection as the Pakistan of to-day and the Ancient Pakistan are two distinct pages intended to have distinct type of contents. Would any one redirect the page Ancient Rome to Rome or Ancient Greece to Greece. Likewise is the case with Ancient Pakistan. The topic requires a distinct page and distinct contents.
- Accordingly, I have endeavored to create a stub. I would request other editors interested in value addition to please assist.
Thank you and regards. --Bhadani 15:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

- "Ancient Pakistan" isn't a term for the same reasons "Ancient Switzerland", "Ancient USA" or "Ancient United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" aren't terms. dab (ᛏ) 13:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Gone with the Wind. But, the term Ancient Pakistan is current in many references. A separate page is required to give the subject suitable coverage. --Bhadani 13:39, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
A proposal
I propose to restore the edits, and place the page for AfD to get views of a wider spectrum of fellow-wikipedians. I would recommend for a keep. --Bhadani 06:33, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- I initiated the process today. --Bhadani 17:17, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Correction
Pakistan is not being used as a Political term, but a term to refer to the Pakistani people. Obviously "Indian" cannot be used, but thats not the only reason.
Pakistan was part of "India" for less than 100 years, and this was from 1850 - 1947. Prior to 1850, there was no such land called "India". So please get your facts right. Pakistani people have their own history, and referring to their history as "Indian" (all based on a 100 year old link) is misleading. In fact, Pakistani history should not even be included in the "Ancient India" article, since Indian refers to the people who call themselves Indian.
