I find it hard to believe Rat Island ever had anything on it. It's just too small. Do you have any references to support that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoySmith (talkcontribs) 18:58, 7 December 2004 (UTC)

Hi!,
I do not know of any website that exists.
In her book, "Images Of America : City Island and Orchard Beach" the late Catherine Scott said there was a Typhoid Quarantine Hospital on Rat Island in the 1830's but it closed because of storm floods. Alice Payne is over on Reville Street and she might know cause she wrote "Tales of the Clamdiggers.
I was told in 1958 there used to be a Lighthouse there, but I do not know if it is true or not.

I believe only David's Island is part of New Rochelle. At least, the New Rochelle zoning map doesn't show any of the others. I'm changing the article to that effect, if anyone learns otherwise please feel free to cite and correct. RossPatterson 18:44, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
