Nayah, whose real name is Sylvie Mestre, is a French singer.
" I want to give my voice "
"Just like the stream, I am just passing, while hoping to leave some drops of humanity on my path"
These five last words which come straight from the heart resemble their interpreter, NAYAH, who has been elected to defend France’s colors on May 29th during the next Eurovision song contest in Jerusalem. A song title has rarely summarised this interpreter’s life so truly. To sing, again and forever, seems to have been her moto since her most tender years, more precisely, ever since she heard a song by Edith Piaf. Her decision was made and her future vocation chosen without hesitation: Nayah would be a singer. Reinforced by an irresistible determination and an exceptional voice, she has gone through the different stages of an eclectic and coherent path: six years of studies at the Music and Dramatic Arts Academy of Perpignan. She acquired stage experience with artists like Robert Charlebois and Diane Tell, who enthusiastically encouraged her to persist on the chosen path. Today, to top it all off, she is crowned for her unfailing perseverance; the Eurovision is on target.
"I am both proud and flattered to represent France for this title, NAYAH admits. I would like to show myself worthy of the public’s and business people’s trust who have chosen me to participate in this finale". For the last Eurovision contest of the century and at the eve of the year 2000, Nayah has decided to see (and to do) things big. As an echo to her credo ("I want to give my voice"), hundreds of millions of television viewers from the globe will not hesitate to give her their vote…
