I moved the page from Rodderick Toombs to Roderick Toombs; among other sources, Roddy's 2002 biography gives the correct spelling as "Roderick". --Chrysaor 22:28, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Why not just Roddy Piper? Naming Conventions say to use the most common name. There doesn't seem to be any reason to use his real name.--Darren Jowalsen 03:33, May 20, 2005 (UTC)
The Most Important Part ... his piping
Okay, I didn't watch WWF in his day ... or any day since ... I guess I was just too intelligent and had better things to do with my time. So far as I know tho, having already acknowledged a lack of information on this bloke, he actually played pipes to some degree -- yes, no? How about a section in this article about RRPiper and his piping experience, or lack there of (was his piping fake too?). Okay, sing with me now "I'm a piper, he was a piper(?), wouldn't you like to be a piper too?" ManOnPipes —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:09, 13 September 2008 (UTC).
Requested move
Toombs is best known as Roddy Piper, and he seems to own the trademark, so there's no chance he'll stop using the name anytime soon (unlike many wrestlers). Therefore, there's no reason to keep this page at its current location.

WCW career
There is hardly any information regarding his time in WCW other than the year he was signed and the year he was released. Anybody care to fill the gaps? Jeff Silvers 04:53, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
I have done so. There is a lot storyline wise from 98/99 that I left out, but the basics are covered. MFuture 19:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Family
Does anyone know the names of his children? I know that he has a son named Colton and a daughter named Fallon Danica. Doesn't he have a daughter named Ariel that recntly gave birth to Roddy's first grandchild? Roddy son is Colt, Dau. Fallon Danica, dau. Ariel Tiel and dau. Anastacia mother of his grandchild. rpipergirlRpipergirl 02:30, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
the correct spelling is Falon Danika, Ariel Teal, and Anastasia.
Vitalstatistics
I don't think Piper is as tall as 6'2".(Halbared 07:43, 2 June 2006 (UTC))
Vince is 6 ft 2 in, looking at this pic http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/r/roddypiper/40.jpg I'd say Piper is nearing 6 ft. What do others think?(Halbared 14:21, 6 June 2006 (UTC))
I don't know what the deal is with that picture but I was just watching the first Piper's Pit where Piper came back to the WWE and I noted that Piper was actually taller than Vince. If I can find a clear picture showing this I'll link to it. 74.139.205.189 05:43, 25 November 2006 (UTC) Piper is 6'1 1/2" he has stated on a number of ocations user: rpipergirl
Complaint
I've read some Pro-Wrestling pages and this one seems to be one of the most "Pro"Pro wrestling, meaning, it reads like the author believes that it's real. Can someone do something about all these pages? SRodgers--65.24.77.104 17:19, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Updated Facts piper won the golden gloves boxing championship was a black belt in judo and was an amatuer wrestler . He also won over 7000 matches . All are facts and should be mentioned. Rick Flair said Piper was the most talented pro wrestler in history bar none.Cashisclay 20:20, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
I tagged this article because, as the IP user above was trying to say, it seems like an unbalanced mix of kayfabe and the truth. And kayfabe has no place on Misplaced Pages. CJ 13:06, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Piper's Pit
Who is for it as a seperate article, and who is against it? I think a discussion needs to be made, before people just decide to revert it back to a redirect with no discussion. The interview segment is notable, and can be more than just "listcruft" as one editor called it during a revert back to the redirect. RobJ1981 07:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Support, cautiously... I agree with RobJ1981, it can be more than listcruft. At very least, it would need a discussion of the notable Pits... the Snuka/coconut incident, Frankie Williams, Andre and Heenan challenging Hogan. Zipster 12:47, 16 December 2006 (UTC)Zipster
Not supposed to win the Tag Team title?
What's this about Flair and Piper weren't even supposed to win the Tag Team titles? This is the first I've heard of it, and what's more, there's no proof of this. I'm taking it out until someone brings forth some proof. Anakinjmt 14:44, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Proof? No. You won't get it. However, the selection of Piper as Flair's tag team partner for that match was part of an online vote. One of the other candidates was Flair's long-time rival Dusty Rhodes. It was generally believed by many fans and "insiders" that the WWE expected Rhodes to receive the most votes instead of Piper. Either partner would have been compatible with the storyline, so the WWE proceeded with Piper anyway. In this regard, Piper was not "supposed" to be (or expected to be) in the match. But none of this would really pass as "proof" of what the WWE was expecting to happen. - HMFiles —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.188.6 (talk) 14:28, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Things do sometimes fail to happen as intended - as an extreme example, witness the Montrèal Screwjob. This may not be such a case, but keep the possibility in mind. --Duneflower, resident weirdo 07:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
ECW Appearance
Can I just point out that Piper did not attack Boogeyman with a steel chair at all. Piper threw Striker back into the ring, before Boogeyman spat worms into Striker's mouth. Piper just left the scene. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rfcucl1972 (talk • contribs) 15:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
MidAtlantic and Georgia
The 1980-1983 "MidAtlantic" section implies that Piper turned good by defending Gordon Solie while working for Jim Crockett Promotions (aka Mid-Atlantic). It actually happened in the separate (though frequently cooperating) promotion, Georgia Championship Wrestling. I propose changing the header of that section to something like "Mid-Atlantic and Georgia" and clarify the location of the Solie incident. It should also perhaps note Piper's Georgia rivalries against Tommy Rich, Buzz Sawyer, and Michael Hayes, as well as his alliance with Ole Anderson, Gary Hart, and (initially) Buzz Sawyer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.188.6 (talk) 14:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Colton Toombs-MMA fighter
Should it be mentioned on Roddy's page that his son Colton is a mma fighter? He's only had one fight but there will probably be more in the future.(MgTurtle (talk) 15:03, 21 August 2008 (UTC))
Youngest Wrestler In History
There is a challenge to wether Piper was the youngest wrestler ever. Rey Mysterio started in wrestling when he was 15. If you look at Mysterio's birthdate and when he joined, you will see he join when he was 15. So that part about Piper being the youngest needs to be changed. Mr. C.C. other media section
Poorly written if you ask me, clearly needs an overhaul, his television work, filmography need to be separated into it's own section with explanation and a list of film/character/year. Govvy (talk) 22:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Agreed and would like to see more discussion on this. --Powerfire (talk) 08:46, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Petruzzi/Bertuzzi
The article right now says:
- "Following a leave of absence from the WWF, Piper returned during a TV taping on WWF Superstars in 1986 against jobber A.J. Petruzzi and seemed to be a fan favorite. After being slapped in the face by Bertuzzi twice, Piper placed one hand behind his back and beat his opponent to a pulp."
I don't know enough about the wrestler involved, so is his name Petruzzi or Bertuzzi? Or did he wrestle under both? Unless he changed his name in the middle of the match, that should really be fixed. --There are no names left (talk) 03:31, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
First TNA Run
The article lists 'The Vince Russo/TNA Controversy' under TNA (2004-2005). However, the shoot referenced in the 'The Vince Russo/TNA Controversy' section occurred in 2002, at weekly PPV #23. Someone with more knowledge of the events should change this. Tory88 (talk) 14:17, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Roddy Piper
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Roddy Piper's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
Piper's debut in PWG is stated under the wrestlemania, part time wwe appearances. Should this have its own section below. Perhaps titled Independent Circuit? or Pro Wrestling Guerrilla? — Preceding unsigned comment added by A31lover (talk • contribs) 04:16, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Singing Career
Anyone have any information on his supposed singing career in the early 90s? He released a single with a music video in 1992 entitled, "I'm Your Man". I'm not sure if it was only released in the UK or what but apparently it was under Sony's label. The video aired years later on an episode of WCW Monday Nitro. It seems that it should have at least a passing mention in the article considering his other successes outside of wrestling. TheGary (talk) 18:11, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
Merger proposal
After suggesting the deletion of the Piper's Pit article at WT:PW#Piper's Pit I figured this would be a more appropriate step. I propose the Piper's Pit article be merged with Roddy Piper due to the notability of the subject relating to this article. Some of the content on the Piper's Pit page does seem notable, however, I can't say the same for the majority of other notes listed there. Other issues with the Piper's Pit article include a lack of sources and list format. 03:42, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- These are the paragraphs that (at the minimum) should be merged:
- Piper interviews jobber Frankie Williams, tells him that he's worthless and beats him up. This is where Piper coins one of his famous quotes: "Just when they think they've got the answers, I change the questions."
- André the Giant turns heel on Hulk Hogan, comes onto the set with Bobby Heenan, and challenges him to a match at WrestleMania III, and rips off his shirt and crucifix before walking off the set with Heenan as well. In the process of ripping the shirt and crucifix, Andre's fingernail penetrated Hogan's skin, accidentally causing him to bleed, which Piper noticed and said to Hogan, "You're bleeding". Piper shocked many fans by actually comforting Hogan and leading him offstage. About a week later, Hogan returned to the pit to give his answer to whether or not he'll take Andre's challenge; "YEEEEEEEEEEESSS!"
- Another noteworthy event to add would be HBK turning on his then tag partner Marty Jannetty superkicking him through the plate glass window. ArcAngel (talk) ) 05:01, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- That was actually a segement called the Barber Shop and was hosted by Brutis Beefcake. AFIK it has nothing to do with Pipers Pit.--76.69.169.220 (talk) 03:54, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
