He married Hon. Margaret Smith, daughter of William Smith, 2nd Viscount Hambleden and Lady Esther Gore, on 16 October 1928 and had children:
- James Morrison, 2nd Baron Margadale, 17 July 1930–6 April 2003
- The Honourable Sir Charles Andrew Morrison, 25 June 1932–May 2005. He married Antoinette Long, daughter of Walter Long, 2nd Viscount Long and Frances Charteris, on 28 October 1954; no issue. A one time Conservative MP
- Peter Morrison, Conservative MP and PPS to Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister during the 1990 leadership election.
