William Warner Hoppin (September 1, 1807- April 18, 1880) was the Whig governor of Rhode Island from 1854 to 1857. Hoppin graduated the Hopkins School in 1824 and then went to Yale University for his undergraduate degree and for law school. His first elected office was to the Common Council of Providence in 1838. He is buried at Swan Point Cemetery.
