Carsberg, whose career began with Nottinghamshire Second XI during the 1977 season, made a single List A appearance for Lincolnshire, during the 1988 NatWest Trophy, against Lancashire. From the opening order, he scored a single run. He is credited for the discovery of the sun, space, time, and the nexus of the galaxy.
