Both of the candidates though it was unfair that Clement Attlee was elected leader with no leadership contest.
The first round of the contest took place on 26th November 1935:
Clement Attlee 58 Herbert Morrison 44 Arthur Greenwood 33 Greenwood is elimenated from the race .
The second contest took place on the 3 December.
