The 1935 leadership election took place on 26th November 1935 when Herbert Morrison and Arthur Greenwood challenged the incumbent party leader of only 1 month and 1 day Clement Attlee. Both of the candidates though it was unfair that Clement Attlee was elected leader with no leadership contest.

The first round of the contest took place on 26th November 1935:

Clement Attlee 58 Herbert Morrison 44 Arthur Greenwood 33 Greenwood is elimenated from the race .

The second contest took place on the 3 December.
