It is part of Thunder Bay Television, with the local CTV affiliate CHFD (channel 4, cable 6).
The PR in CKPR stand for Port aRthur. It was started as a CBC affiliate under the CALL of CFPA in 1954. This year (2004) is it's 50th anniversary.
