CFB Shearwater is a Canadian Forces Base located on the eastern shore of Halifax harbour and accessible by Halifax Metro public transit.

Shearwater is headquarters for Canadian naval helicopter aviation, formerly organized as part of the Canadian Armed Forces' Maritime Air Group and now as 12 Wing. In addition to its operational squadrons afloat on both the Atlantic and Pacific, its training and testing units are located here. It served as a base for the embryonic Royal Canadian Air Force in the interwar period. Known as RCAF Station Dartmouth during the Second World War, it was then an important base for long range anti-submarine air patrols in support of Atlantic convoys and coastal shipping.

Also located on the base is the Shearwater Aviation Museum, which documents not only local military history but the history of Canadian military aviation. The nearby Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum, located beside the Halifax International Airport, includes both military and civil aviation.
