RE: Helena Paparizou's Mambo in Ireland
The way I know is that for major releases, Ireland and the UK always have the same releases. A lot of the distributors are merged for them anyway - as far as I know Sony BMG's division for the two is Sony BMG UK & Ireland - only a few bother to seperate the two e.g. UMG. It's more than an assumption - it's common knowledge. Nearly all UK or Irish channels are available in both, while the MTV channels are intended for both (see MTV UK and Ireland). And I'm not exactly sure what you mean by my userpage. Do you mean the userboxes? - хот 19:22, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually I just noticed that Sony BMG have actually split Sony BMG UK & Ireland into SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (UK) LIMITED and SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (IRELAND) LIMITED (must have been quite recently) but the point still stands. - хот 19:24, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I just realised now, they haven't really - just on paper. If you go to sonybmg.ie the only useful link relating to Sony BMG is one to sonybmgmusic.co.uk. - хот 19:27, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I see. That makes it marginally less likely, but still overwhelmingly likely. It's like, if it was gonna be Sony BMG it was like 99% likely, now its just 97%. - хот 19:30, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- (I keep forgetting bits!) The userboxes are pretty easy, just see WP:UB. - хот 19:31, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- (I forgot ANOTHER bit) Looking at AATW's artists it goes back up to 99% likely as Cascada, Dannii Minogue, and Frankee have all had popular releases in Ireland. I did some searching on iTunes Ireland and all the other artists I checked were available for purchase too. - хот 19:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok I've now fully investigated AATW's artists. All the ones that are released, are on iTunes Ireland with AATW listed as the copyright holder. - хот 19:38, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Because they're releases are on iTunes Ireland which is one of the few places where the Irish and UK catalogues are seperate. This is the OFFICIAL Irish Singles Chart as of now (look at #1 and #5) - хот 19:43, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- But notice it doesn't mention Ireland at all. Small-ish labels based in the UK usually don't. It's a bit messy cause Ireland has different release dates. It doesn't mention Cascada or Mick Modell VS Jessy in Ireland either but they're on the chart. It's probably to do with who distributes their CDs for them (it's probably not themselves since they're probably too small to make it economically feasable) - хот 19:54, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't really know what kind of proof you want. I've shown you they've had popular releases in Ireland, and they don't mention Irish releases for them on their site, so in the very likely event that Mambo! will be released in Ireland, it won't be any different. - хот 19:56, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. Now I'm very confused. I've provided you with proof that AATW do have releases in Ireland, despite not saying it on their site. Yet you still seem to doubt it. I live in Ireland and know a great deal about Irish releases, and their relationship to UK ones, and can very close to guarantee you that it will be out in Ireland. But for the sake of absolute cetainty, I've e-mailed AATW to be completely, 100%, no-doubt, positively certain. - хот 20:17, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. Take a look at iTunes Ireland if you want. - хот 15:10, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh Mother
Hey,
First of all, I wanna say that it's quite my opinion, but TRL Italy had to remove the video from the playlist, because they couldn't sent the video! Neither France, Spain, the UK ore the rest of Europe are sending the video on music channels and the only Sony BMG to talk about this new single was the German one. On the British official site of Christina Aguilera there are no info about Oh Mother, while on the German it has been posted since a long time news about Oh Mother. That's why I think that Oh Mother was and will only be released in German-speaking-countries. Of course it could be that the other European countries will release this single in future, but I don't think so. Olliyeah (talk) 20:46, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, it's happening quite often that a musician is releasing a song only in those countries, for example Nelly Furtado. Hmmm, there isn't such a mess. I saw bigger problems. =) By the way, I changed the things I know they aren't right. Olliyeah (talk) 20:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, of course her Live-DVD will be released in all European countries!! =) Have you deleted the info about the Singapore chart..?!Olliyeah (talk) 21:14, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
no no..it wasn't me! but why did you delete it..?! it's true and it has been confirmed.. and another question.. did you write that the video of Oh Mother is airing in the UK..?! it's just a question- I have no idea XD Olliyeah (talk) 19:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
hmm...the source for the sales in Singapore is in the reception part.. Olliyeah (talk) 17:04, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh Mother
Hey, I think we already knew each other...hehe Well, Croatia doesn't have an own charts site and this blog shows the sales of the Croatian music business, which are made by Billboard. Those grafics are made by Billboard and were copied from their site. I'm sorry, but I wasn't the one, who deleted the Airplay charts!! But usually you delete the Airplay sites, when an official single chart is there! I know it's annoying, but wikipedia wants it so. Olliyeah (talk) 23:12, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Burlesque
Can you edit the Burlesque sales in Christina Aguilera discography? The sales are over 455,000 copies. Source. Terneris (talk) 15:33, 10 August 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.221.176.175 (talk)
Editing Tip
If you want to undo several edits as you did on My Number One, then go to the history, click on the date of the version you want, then when that old page opens up, click edit and then save. It will override all edits since that version and return the page to that version. Grk1011 (talk) 03:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

RE: Lotus
Billboard is a trade magazine, The Scotsman has no ties to the music industry, and it can be argued that there's a conflict of interest (Metacritic's profile of Billboard). The ratings template is for ratings, and "favorable" is not a rating, so a score would be preferred. As far as circulation, Billboard (at least the latest I could google) was around 18,000, less than the figure cited in the Wikpedia article for the Scotsman. Also, the ratio shown at Metacritic or AnyDecentMusic valides using 2 positive to 8 mixed scores in the ratings template for this album. Dan56 (talk) 20:43, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- The only kind of consistency in articles that Misplaced Pages promotes is style and formatting, but even that shouldnt be "though not necessarily throughout Misplaced Pages as a whole." (WP:MOS) As far as what review to choose, each article has its own information available to it and how to distribute it into an article. I can imagine Billboard or some other "favorable" entry in the template for an article on an album that didnt receive many reviews, but if there are enough scores available to show an accurate representation of most reviews, the template doesnt need scoreless ones. BTW, the critical reception section of the Red article you mentioned is pretty shoddy; overlong quotes, poor paraphrasing, redundant mentions of ratings when the ratings are already mentioned in the template, etc. Dan56 (talk) 16:04, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Also, I did replace the NYtimes entry, but it was removed by another editor. Dan56 (talk) 16:05, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Encyclopedias arent about "variety". They are reference works, and they reference "the most reliable sources on a topic" and should only reflect those. If the majority of professional music critics gave the album a score that is reflected by sources like Metacritic or AnyDecentMusic?, then that is what should be reflected here. WP:ALBUMS articles and their critical reception sections arent supposed to spice things up by performing a balancing act and seeking positive reviews to offset the mixed or negative reviews, because that would be breaching the integrity and informal tone of an encyclopedia. This album got what it got, and that is what is being reflected. Please be "neutral in form": "Creating an article or section about a phenomenon's reception is not meant to be an complete list of all praise and criticism, but to provide readers with a representative sample of how that phenomenon has been received." Furthermore, "It is not the responsibility of any one editor to research all points of view." BTW, I dont see how the citation for Q lacking a url would be a problem; they're a print publication used by both Metacritic and AnyDecentMusic?, specifically these aggregate sites' entries for Lotus. Christina Aguilera
I guess we should discuss each single's inclusion on the talk page of the discography. It's the most sensible way to solve this matter. We can talk about it here on your talk page here if you wish. — ΛΧΣ 21:46, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Croatian Album Chart for Girl Who Got Away
Hi, the Croatian chart is an official album chart, so I see no reason as to why you've deleted it. To say 1 chart per country is enough is silly, even for a small country. If the album has charted in more than 1 chart in a country, then I see no reason as to why it shouldn't be included, especially since other countries such as Belgium, South Korea and Taiwan have more than 1 album chart. So, i've included the album chart back in the Wiki page. Thanks, --StephenN17 (talk) 11:52, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
