Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (ポケットモンスター オメガルビー&アルファサファイア, Poketto Monsutā Omega Rubī & Arufa Safaia) are two video games slated for release for the Nintendo 3DS handheld game console. They are remakes of the 2002 Game Boy Advance video games Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. The games were revealed on May 7, 2014, in a teaser trailer released by Nintendo.
Development
Fans had been speculating about remakes of Ruby and Sapphire for years, most notably seeing references to the games and their region, Hoenn, in the 2013 predecessors Pokémon X and Y.
Nintendo confirmed the remakes in a press release on May 7, 2014. The games will be released worldwide in November 2014. The games have also been confirmed on the official Pokémon website.
