Welcome!
Interested in becoming a regular contributor to Misplaced Pages? Create an account! Your IP address, To have your own user pages, keep track of articles you've edited in a watchlist, and have access to a few other special features, please consider registering an account! It's fast and free. (Note: Sometimes, due to vandalism, you may be temporarily unable to register). Applying an indefinite block to this IP is not appropriate, unless it is a soft block, because the IP address will later be reallocated to a different, unrelated, and unsuspecting user, thereby impairing access to Misplaced Pages in an inappropriate fashion. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. The best approach is to determine the CIDR IP numerical address range and make a higher-level decision to soft-block the entire range. http://www.arin.net/ (for approximately North America) and related sites can help to identify that range. Caution is advised when applying a range block as other Wikipedians, both registered and otherwise, may be affected.
Review contributions carefully if blocking this IP address or reverting its contributions. If a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block using Template:Anonblock. Network administrators, to monitor this IP address for vandalism, can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format. |
I'm flattered that you have sought me out to help, but on wikipedia, it's never a good idea to recruit people to a straw poll....too many bad things have happened as a result of that in earlier polls. I would give a comment or two, although I believe that my lack of knowledge in diacritic names (or which ones are official and most frequently used, anyway) couldn't contribute much to the discussion. Looking over the poll, most of what I know has been discussed already, and restating things that have already been said only makes me appear uninformed and/or stubborn. Sorry I'm not of more help. By the way, I saw that you went on a hiatus after you recieved a slap on the wrist for recruiting votes. You shouldn't be so distraught because you made a mistake—everyone here has made at least a few, and while it may have been unnecessary to attack a newbie like yourself over such a thing, you shouldn't let it destroy your hope in editing. If you do create an account, tell me, and I'll be happy to help you get back on track.--The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me) 02:39, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- I almost completely concur with the above statement. --vi 02:52, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
