Hi, Materialscientist. The previous protection was also three months. The same exact type of vandalism has persisted throughout this year on it... - Hoops gza (talk) 04:43, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

A reply would be appreciated. - Hoops gza (talk) 01:28, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
Wrong, previous was not 3 month. Sprotection is not exact science and every admin has their own philosophy. I tend to issue long sprotection for FA/GAs or other well-developed articles with little chance for significant improvement; maybe also vandal magnets. But. There are zillions of articles that desperately need expansion, and are regularly updated/expanded by anons or new users. I hesitate sprotecting those. Nick Vujicic is in the 2/3 group. 2 June 2014 to 2 September 2014 is three months. I don't care what you do with the page at this point, but I don't want you to lose credibility in me. - Hoops gza (talk) 02:02, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

So, I fixed page about "kwoon" because it's wrong, I live in Beijing China, and speak Chinese, the character 馆 does not mean martial arts school, whoever wrote the article initially was seriously misinformed, I tried to correct the error, martial arts school is 武馆 wuguan, not 馆 guan, if you think I'm wrong feel free to take it upon yourself to learn Chinese — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.199.24.110 (talk) 11:55, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Need page move correction

An editor "Alanelpaso" seems to have made a good-intentioned page move/page creation that has messed with the page history. The original Page was The Motels. It has a long creation history. He moved it to The Motels Discography so it now has the history. He then deleted "The Motels" content and left only the discography content. he then re-created The Motels with the original content (minus the discography. LOL, I hope you can follow that. I need the new "The Motels" article deleted and I then need the "The Motels Discography" moved back to "The Motels". Then we can delete the changes he made and maybe create a new discography article. I hope I'm clear what he did. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:53, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Quickfixed, might need correction. Materialscientist (talk) 00:11, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm not sure it needs a separate discography article, things get updated more when they are all together, but that's a minor issue that can be talked about now that you fixed things. Again thanks and happy black Friday. Fyunck(click) (talk) 00:21, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

You have removed my reasonable and polite comment from your talk page, reverted my edits, bullied me with threats of an edit block, and misrepresented my views. Hi - re the edit I made - I changed 'prostrate cancer' (which is incorrect) to 'prostate cancer'. You can leave it as 'prostrate' if you like, but the two words mean completely different things ('prostrate' means 'lying down' whereas a man's prostate gland is part of his reproductive system). You most definitely can't get 'prostrate cancer'. A quick dictionary check will confirm. 80.189.209.194 (talk) 15:23, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Athena Kolbe/Jennifer Balistra

Athena Kolbe actually does go by the name Jennifer Balistra, as well. It is important to connect the two in the research and work with ETS, a school in Haiti. (Enstiti Travay Sosyal ak Syans Sosyal (ETS) - Institute of Social Work and Social Science) Part of Kolbe's narrative includes information that she was born in Israel and served as a medic in the Israeli armed forces. She uses this information as she guides certain aspects of the school and the social work teaching in the school for native Haitians.

Changes on article about the clarinete

Hello, Sir

I understand what you are talking about, and I did me best to find a source, but there are so limited informations and I did not find any of them. But, I have study archaeology and art history, and I now that oral history is a fundamental part of folklore. That's why I provided only some information about how clarinete is involved in the folkore and tradition of South Albania. The clarinete has become a crucial instrument in Albanian folklore. For these reasons I added those information. I still believe that information that I have posted are necessary because it is part of the history of this instrument and the way that people use it. I am still looking for the sources.

Help needed on Commons

Hi MS. Commons isn't my usual stomping ground, but I could use some admin help over there - woudl you mind taking a look at this list of uploads? I'm pretty sure they are all non-free copyvios and in need of deletion - I'm currently dealing with this user's repeated copyvios on en-wiki, but I lack the admin pants on Commons... Actually, you amy want to have a look at Commons user AliAkar, whom I've just noticed... don't know if you have a sockpuppetry policy over there, but it looks an awful lot like the same fella. Yunshui  13:16, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
I've now concluded, after spending a bit of time trying to construct an SPI over here for these two editors, that they probably aren't the same person - they generally edit in different areas, and their editing styles are noticably dissimilar. You still may want to examin AliAkar's Commons uploads as they look to be copyvios from the same sources as Saeegh's. Yunshui  13:35, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

224 as an interesting number

I found a legitimate source about 224. I added it. You deleted it as vandalism or a test; it was neither. Thank you for self-reverting your warning. Although, since it was otherwise a deletion of sourced content without an explanation, it could now be re-added, instead I brought it to the talk page. Cetacean Taxonomy

Hi,

As a part of the Society for Marine Mammalogy Education Committees initiatives, I have been correcting outdated taxonomy of the cetaceans. Based on current research from the last 10 years, the cetaceans genetically and morphologically fall firmly within the Artiodactyla (even-toed ungulates). The term Cetartiodactyla reflects the idea that whales evolved within the ungulates. The term was coined by merging the name for the two orders, Cetacea and Artiodactyla, into a single word. Under this definition, the closest living land relative of the whales and dolphins is thought to be the hippopotamus. Use of Order Cetartiodactyla, instead of Cetacea with Suborders Odontoceti and Myticeti, is favored by most evolutionary mammalogists working with molecular data and is supported the IUCN Cetacean Specialist Group and by Taxonomy Committee of the Society for Marine Mammalogy, the the largest international association of marine mammal scientists in the world.

This is a major shift in editing Wikiepdia for this change in taxonomy, but its well grounded in at least 10 years of research. I have made this clear and referenced the research on the Marine Mammal page and granted the fact that there is some opposition for stability, but felt there isnt the need to justify it each time on each species page - so I just changed the boxes. I noticed you had corrected it back to Cetacea on a few pages. How can I convince you not to do so in the future?

Maybe Give It A Second Look Please

Hello Materialscientist,

I appreciate you letting me know of this matter.

The reason I am asking for a second look is because after perusing the guidelines I feel that my contribution follows these guidelines.

I'm trying to figure out if this was an issue between adding a source altogether or because it was some formatting issue.

As you can also clearly see, - the page that was replaced as a source went to a blank white page, which violates the guidelines. - the site added has the pertinent information that relates directly to the topic

Thank you for your time and work to maintain the integrity of Misplaced Pages. Ericbaumann321 (talk) 22:26, 8 December 2014 (UTC) Eric

Reason for Finland edit.

Hi, Apologies for any offence caused by my edit on your excellent piece on Finland. It's the first time I've edited anything on this site, and only did so because I was concerned about the claim that Finland was the 'first country in the world to grant universal suffrage'. New Zealand people are very proud that universal suffrage passed into law in 1893, 10 years early than Finland and this can be verified via numerous official sources. Once again, no offence intended:) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Catlg (talkcontribs) 22:30, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

I removed the links on the Camp Stone wikipedia page because as the director-in-training, I was advised by the Board of Trustees as well as the Directors of the institution to update the page including removing information that could compromise the safety of our institution. It is our desire on our Misplaced Pages page to not have cross references to the items that you put back onto the page. Please advise as soon as possible, as I would like to remove the information you put back. Thank you for your understanding.

As a separate matter, who are you and what is your connection to Camp Stone, and who originally authorized you to edit information on our page? The current administration does not remember directing anyone to edit content on our page.

JATO

Hi. I (my IP) recently edited a section of the Wiki page on JATO rockets. I did this simply to clean up the grammar errors and sentence structure in that section. Improper grammar and messy sentence structure can cause difficulty in reading and comprehending an article. In addition, it causes the author to appear less intelligent, therefore less trustworthy on the subject.
I feel that my editing of the article made an improvement, and I am unaware of any violation of conduct. I urge you to rethink your reversion of my edit.
