Jon Gaunt was a morning talk show presenter for BBC London 94.9 until July 2005. He left for a new position with BBC Coventry & Warwickshire but left after a month. He now writes a column for the The Sun London newspaper. Gaunt now hosts a mid-morning current affairs show on talkSPORT. Reports suggest he is the most unpopular presenter in the station's history, an online petition to remove him (http://www.petitiononline.com/mquinn) continues to gather pace whilst industry insiders give him until Xmas to survive at the most. During an on air conversation ,Jon frequently speaks over the person with an opposing view to his or simply increases the volume of his squeaky voice until he is heard. Ironically, Gaunt often cites his radio expertise and experience to justify his manner. He often comments that people ` do not understand how to have a conversation` and yet is ironically is the one person in the whole world you would least like to have a conversation with. His style appears to be that of a James Whale wannabe - without the wit or humour that his sidekick Ash adds to the whole affair. A show that does not at least once mention assylum seakers, cars , police or his `JagUAAAR`, is a rarity. Gaunt frequently likes to state his wealth and ram the fact that he has a second hand Jaguar down his listeners throats. He frequently says that people who do not like him ,yet, still continue to listen. Rather his show acts as a cure for insomniacs.
