The organization calls its belief system Messianic Judaism. Like early Christians they believe it possible to be both a Jew and a Christian.
It is a controversial organization especially among American Jewry, and provokes hostility. University students and other allegedly socially vulnerable groups are approached by Jews for Jesus. They have also sent their members to the Ukraine and Russia.
