notability guideline proposal

Hi, I wanted to let you know that me and someone else drafted a proposal at WP:NNOT. If you're interested you can give comments or edit. Cya around. Fresheneesz 09:54, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Damhead creek

Sure they have

You can remove it, if you like. I'm sure that Roger is honoured, though. International Sportsperson of the Year. Wallie 22:46, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

You can change it if you want to. Thanks. Wallie 23:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks...

... for the kind words you left on my user page. I also have, for your enjoyment, a pair of userboxes that state I am an atheist and a member of the Anglican church. I understand the spirit of why people are against userboxes (and mine are dwindling), pushing POV and using them to create factions and cliques. I fell in love with them originally however simply because a lot of them just made me laugh, and that's a nice break sometimes. Yes, I'm here primarily to write an encyclopedia, but userpages and their boxes let me know that I am creating with other people not faceless, text editors. Ifnord 02:56, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

BGC

You reinstated content I removed from a user page, stating on my talk page that it had probably been posted by a sock puppet evading a ban. This does not strike me as a good argument for leaving divisive content on a user page. Would you by any chance have more persuasive arguments? AvB ÷ talk 22:20, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Good points. Consider me persuaded :-) AvB ÷ talk 22:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Presidents of Panama

Hello Ziggurat. I just noticed you have left a message on the talk page of the {{PanamaPresidents}}. I think this template is unnecessary so I think it should be replaced by standard succession boxes. I have already replaced it for presidents back to the 1984. Do you share the same opinion? - Darwinek 17:31, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

No no no. Can you revert your nomination please? I will complete changing that boxes tomorrow and will delete it (I'm an admin) subsequently. - Darwinek 23:28, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

John Strausbaugh page

Hello,

Thank you for your advice. I did some research and tried to fix the page. Also did a Google search re: importance. I notified Mr. Gustafson who admonished me for telling him what he already knew. Seems a number of people don't like this guy Strausbaugh. I always found his writing to be opinionated, but based on considerable research. I see that you have de-puffed the page. I feel that relevant information has been deleted. I have now checked out numerous author's pages and found them to be far more cluttered and "puffy" than this one ever was--although I do agree that it was a little over the top.

Sincerely,

ITech

Thank you for de-puffing the Strausbaugh page. It now looks like hell, however and the addition of the tag "publicity photo" beneath the portrait is obviously embarrassing. There are countless portraits of living writers on wikipedia that are not marred in this manner. What is the problem here? Do you and Gustafson have a particular issue with Strausbaugh? If so, I would truly like to know what it is. Perhaps it has merit. In any case, the following is copied from Gustafson's page. He deleted my last message requesting that he assign me a different administrator. He has been exceedingly rude and pompous. If you can assign me to another administrator, please have the kindness to do so. If not, please tell me the process. Thank you for your patience. ITech 21:01, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

User talk:Jeffrey O. Gustafson I don't feel like having a user page, so quit bugging me about it. Also, contrary to popular belief, I do not exist (and neither do you). I'm not nearly as active as I used to be, but still occasionally edit and weild my administrative cudgel. Feel free to leave me a message (be aware that I quickly archive items nowadays, and reserve the right to revert and refactor at will). Talk Archives ~ Contributions ~ Admin Logs --Jeff Uptake

To No One

I'm downright pleased to be informed (by the non-you) that you "do not exist." Beg to differ on the idea that I don't either. I too was once lost to science fiction, but have returned to existance sans human form. Nonetheless, I can virtually control a keyboard. Considering that, in this sense, I do exist and you do not, I ask again that you transfer me to another administrator--preferably one who does exist, admits his or her existance and is not a member of that rouge clan of yours. With all due respect and thanks to the non-existant, ITech 20:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC) Category: Rouge admins

Proposed Georgia Move

As a past participant in the discussion on how to handle the Georgia pages, I thought you might be interested to know that there's a new attempt to reach consensus on the matter being addressed at Talk:Georgia (country)#Requested_Move_-_July_2006. Please come by and share your thoughts to help form a consensus. --Vengeful Cynic 03:31, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing back the MindTree article. I had lost hope and forgot about this. Hadn't logged in to wiki for many days. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks You. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sonyjose (talkcontribs) .

Categories in Userspace

Oh! Thank you so much. I realized elsewhere that my sandboxing with that syntax might have had that bad effect. I will now proceed to correct it.

By the way, do you if the procedure to remove instead of just blanking userspace articles is a complicated one?

Lotta good

Lotta good that would do, I can even see the article that didn't meet the critera.

A better thing to do would have been to call for improvement of the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wikipediastar (talkcontribs) .

disgrace to wikipedia

I would just like to say your revertions on my user page are digusting. Why don't you let me know you have (had?) problems with my POV. I think you are a speck on Misplaced Pages's public image and I have emailed Jimmy about you. 88.110.18.87 21:58, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Replied at your talk page. I do not believe you are User:DVokes editing while logged out as you claim, as you have also edited User:Jdcooper. Either way you're editing someone's user page without their say-so, which is rude. Ziggurat 22:01, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, I am not about to debate my own personality! JDCooper is a friend. I am trying to get my account back. But as for your comments, how brash! Why didn't you email me about it beforehand? I cannot stand irrational revertions... gah. Fush and Chups. 88.110.18.87 22:03, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Replied at your talk page. Given the obviously vandalistic nature of your edits, I suggest that you wait until you're logged back in to make them. Ziggurat 22:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
How dare you. Your snide remarks about my sexual preference. I just hope they keep logs of what users say to one another. Obvious slander if every I saw it! Shame on you, you evil insipid wench. Trust me, Jimmy will hear ALL about this!! 88.110.18.87 22:10, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm done talking about this. Please e-mail Jimbo if you want to complain. Ziggurat 22:15, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

All the contact information is at his user page. As I said, I'm done talking about this. Go play somewhere else. Ziggurat 22:19, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Jesus ZIggurat, you are so condescending. I just cannot believe the comments you made on that user's talk page. I mean, YES s/he is an IP user, but seriously? You didn't need to insult his family's bloodline like that, did you? Jeez. I hope you either refrain from leaving comments like this, or leave Misplaced Pages altogehter. RE: catsorting

Alright then. What I should probably do is jsut use AWB to catch all the living people I added and didn't catsort (they amount to hundreds actually). It does work better that way though, so I'll do that. --Wizardman 02:49, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Alright, no problem. I'm sure the ones I did have been caught by now, and if not, I should be able to find them. I'll take a look through my edits now. --Wizardman 03:10, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks again for reverting my user page twice. =) I appreciate it. -- Gogo Dodo 07:44, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

"Transport" orthographic imperialism....

Thanks for your sound decision to raise the matter at Misplaced Pages talk:Naming conventions (categories). Uniformity would be nice, but we've already decided in essentially all such spelling/dialect matters that diversity is the better choice for our community, since we end up not imposing one system on everyone. (And, in the end, it's beautiful!) I suspect Darwinek has misunderstood the Guidelines about national varieties of English, but he's being very persistent. (He even seems on the verge of edit-warring with me in some of my reverts of his guideline-violating changes; and, note, also, he removed warnings from his talk page. But I'm going to assume good faith for the time being!) --Cultural Freedom 2006-07-17 -22:13 (UTC) P.S. We were writing to each other at the same time! Just got your msg. Thanks. -CF

Hi, no probs, it just seems like a massive change to make without a really good discussion one way or the other. I assume, btw, that Darwinek removed your comments because of the "pretty mess" on the talk page. Archiving would be nice (I archive everything except vandalism, frex), but not everyone does it that way. Ziggurat 22:17, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: recent hullabaloo

I guess, what it boils down to for me, is that both you and the other editor, seem to feel that I have "an obvious bias" against the material in that article. I'm sure that you can understand my frustration, I simply cannot understand, without more specific details, why both of you seem to feel this way. I am willing to try to understand, perhaps, and this is why I implore you not to argue lofty goals, and what should or should not happen, but to specifically show me what was biased and inappropriate. I also understand if you don't, perhaps you have no further interest in this matter. Such is life. Take care. TheRingess 04:27, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Bowing out is a good idea. Me too. I have no further interest in discussing this. Thank you for your time and help. TheRingess 04:33, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Have replied at your talk, although you seem to have removed it already. I felt an urge to explain as I felt that you misinterpreted me (twice) and User:Jaime234 (once). Nevertheless, Ziggurat 05:45, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I do not share your point of view that I "misinterpreted" you. Since you stated on my talk page, that you didn't care one way or the other and were finished with the discussion, I decided to delete it. Take care.
I don't know how else to describe this: (me, bolding added here) "I get the impression that Jaime234 is noting that you may be a bit too close to the subject to see it objectively - I can't comment on that, as I don't know anything about you or the subject of the article, but this is the reason judges recuse themselves, and it's worth considering whether this is worth doing here or not." (you) "both you and the other editor, seem to feel that I have "an obvious bias" against the material in that article". In any case, I happen to agree with your reasoning on this, I was just trying to explicate on what I felt was a misunderstanding of Jaime234's suggestion. In any case, I'm not interested in discussing this further as I'm not actually involved in this dispute, but if you still feel that I was out of line I apologize. All the best, Ziggurat 22:03, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Re : Muhammad Muhsin Khan

Opppps! It's a consensus to keep the article, looks like a pretty blunt error I've made. (That what happens when you close AfDs wee-hours in the morning) =P I've now fixed it. Apologies for the error. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 08:24, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Firs! I didn't know you had put an RfA up until just now. I'd been meaning to nom you myself for ages now :) Good luck; it seems to be going well so far. Ziggurat 00:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey Ziggurat! :)
First off, thanks for your really nice support statement on my RfA. That was way cool of you. My RfA is going extremely well, so far, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. It hasn't happened so far, but I've still got another 5 days, so... Second, I can't believe it's really been 6+ years, but you're right, it has. Funny how the years slip by so quickly. Seems like just a couple of years ago, you were a "paragon" on the TWMB.;)
Thirdly, did you just recently update your user page? I don't remember that cool menu thingie; kudos on the cool new look. That's awesome! Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say hi and thanks.
Firs.--Firsfron of Ronchester 03:11, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, then, congrats on the 5k! Er... last month... Gah! Oh well. Happy editing! :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 03:24, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
