Kadroo or Kadru was one of the daughters of Prajapati Daksha and she was a Naga woman. She was married to sage Kasyapa along with her 12 sisters. Being a Naga woman she requested her husband to bless her with hundreds of children. As a result she gave birth to a thousand eggs which when hatched became a thousand serpents. Further details are available in Misplaced Pages article on 'Naga'(section-Enmity with Garuda).
