Hamlet is a 1990 film based on the Shakespearean play of the same name. Mel Gibson has the title role, Glenn Close is his mother, Queen Gertrude, Alan Bates plays Claudius, and Helena Bonham Carter appears as Ophelia. It was directed by Franco Zeffirelli.

Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven was used as a location in the film.
