Important Instructions!

Before nominating an article, it must meet all of the featured article criteria. If any of the following are not met, the article will not be promoted to Featured status, so it is important that you check each one thoroughly:

  • The writing must be engaging and of a professional standard.
  • The article must be representative of the relevant literature on its subject.
  • All claims must be cited to high-quality, reliable sources, with consistently formatted inline citations using one of the approved methods.
  • The article must be neutral, stable and follow the style guidelines.
  • The lead must adequately summarize an appropriately structured article body.
  • Images must be adequately tagged and sourced, and follow the image use policy and, where applicable, the non-free content criteria for inclusion.

If you are unsure that the article meets these standards, Peer Review may be a more appropriate venue. The FAC coordinators can remove an unprepared nomination at their discretion after at least one reviewer has suggested it be withdrawn.
