Disambiguation link notification for February 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014–15 KHL season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mikhail Varnakov (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Recent Reversions

Hey, you recently reverted all my edits on Ironbound, The Electric Age and White Devil Armory could you please give me a proper explanation why you think my edits were "unnecessary" and "screw up the whole article"? AlddiHagg0815 (talk) 23:50, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Why do you remove information regarding UK/US? World doesn't consist of only Europe. You can undo me reversions, but only IF you promise to include UK/US release dates and US record label. Sabbatino (talk) 13:02, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ostrogoth (band)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ostrogoth (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Rhododendrites \\ 04:18, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Qed237. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 2015–16 UEFA Europa League, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 20:28, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Are you trying to predict the future? No teams shall be added unless they actually have qualified. Qed237 (talk) 20:32, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I was writing a message on your talk page, but I guess I'll just write here. Those teams that I added qualified. If you have doubts then go check those leagues' websites. Sabbatino (talk) 20:34, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I am watching Serie A right now and Napoli can still reach Champions League, it is 10 minutes left. And none of the Greek teams have the round decided as they may finish everything between 3rd and 5th. We already have notes for teams that have qualified but not decided what round they will play in. Greek teams may not be decided until next sunday. Qed237 (talk) 20:40, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
Then I guess Serie A's website likes to mistaken people, because it states that all teams already played 38 games each. Sabbatino (talk) 20:43, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
It is a "live table" with current matches included. Qed237 (talk) 20:49, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining. Sabbatino (talk) 20:51, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Country names

Country names shouldn't be linked unless they are likely to be misunderstood, confused with another country or unknown to the average reader. Therefore many defunct countries are linked. Hungary and Poland are not defunct countries – you're talking about official names, names by which no average person called these countries, and these names are not relevant to articles about racing drivers. In the 80s, 99.9% of English speakers referred to Hungary and Poland as Hungary and Poland, and we stick to common names outside articles where these formal titles are relevant. For the same reasons, in the Schumacher article for example, we refer to West Germany, and not the Federal Republic of Germany. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:03, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

I didn't really knew such things as my country was under communist-rule after WWII. But when thinking about that, we also called every country by they short forms no matter what. So I kinda punched myself in the face when I made those edits. Thanks anyway and I'll keep that in mind before making an edit next time. Sabbatino (talk) 17:18, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Hey, no problem. Nobody knows everything ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:23, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey

No where in that thing do I insult you. The dashes are not needed in the icons as they are personal tastes themselves. One little change and it goes revert crazy. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 09:52, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

I didn't say that you insulted me. I said that in general as your last message to me (Get off my talk page and leave me alone.) was rude and could lead to insults. If you want to make huge edits then you should first start a conversation on that article's talk page and if a consensus is reached then be it. Sabbatino (talk) 11:42, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Brooklyn Nets

I'm sure you mean well, but just so you know, this is not vandalism. In New York City we often treat the borough as if it were a city, and indeed this is how they are referred to by mailing address. E.g. your address would 123 Main St, Brooklyn, NY, not New York, NY. Other articles also seem to follow the same pattern, such as Barclays Center (Brooklyn), or Flushing Meadows–Corona Park (Queens). We should probably take to the talk page to discuss this further, but I just wanted to ask you to be more careful about labeling edits as vandalism, as it can be a deterrent to new users. At the very least, try to assume good faith. Best — MusikAnimal 01:31, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Golden State Warriors

I find it very strange that mixed in a bunch of other productive and helpful edits, you decided to vandalize Golden State Warriors, while calling your edit reverting vandalism, by removing mention of their title from the lede. Do not make that or similar edits in the future or you may be blocked. Handpolk (talk) 12:10, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Current season for NHL pages

Hello. I see you have reverted some changes on what the current NHL season is. This is currently being discussed on the Ice Hockey project. Please come join the discussion here. -- JamesTeterenko (talk) 23:39, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I certainly will! – Sabbatino (talk) 07:23, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

2015 Basketball Hall of Fame inductees

Hi, I've initiated a discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association in which you might be interested. Cheers. UW Dawgs (talk) 21:00, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Warning

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on other people again, as you did at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Basketball_Association, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people.

Additional personal attacks on Talk:Golden_State_Warriors and User_talk:Handpolk. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 11:44, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
You may wish to familiarize yourself with WP:BOOMERANG. If you run around reporting me, that is almost certainly what is going to happen to you, given all of your personal attacks, edit warring etc. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 14:05, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
There were no personal attacks. My edits were legit. You reverted all vandalisms that I removed. And I'll report you again if you keep harassing me. Take care, troll. – Sabbatino (talk) 14:07, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Calling me a troll is a personal attack. Telling me I have no reading comprehension is a personal attack. I fear your career on Misplaced Pages is about to come to an end as you seem to have no interest in editing collaboratively or ceasing your personal attacks. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 14:39, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
You're the one who called me a troll first. Don't worry, you're already reported. I'm in Misplaced Pages for a lot longer than you and I know what I can do and what I can't. And looks like your days are over as you keep harassing me and vandalise all articles that I made edits to. – Sabbatino (talk) 14:49, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Your report was denied. They said you should take it to ANI. Acting in good faith, I should warn you that if you do that, it's highly likely you will wind up getting blocked. However as somebody who is pretty fed up with your personal attacks and other nonsense, I wouldn't loose much sleep over it if you did. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:17, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

This is not vandalism

Re: . A good faith content dispute is not vandalism. Please do not characterize it as such. Resolute 14:56, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

A good faith edit is when there's a source. And furthermore, that edit is not relevant. Who cares if that player is first from his country to be drafted into NHL. You don't see other players from their countries to be mentioned in articles as the first to be drafted from country X. That user keeps reverting everything I edit and harasses me everywhere. I already reported him and I hope it won't take long until he's banned/blocked from editing. – Sabbatino (talk) 15:01, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
"Who cares if that player is first from his country to be drafted into NHL." I do, for one. I found that very interesting. Given that you also thought the Warriors winning the NBA Finals was not a relevant addition to that article, it might be best if you just stuck to what the RS's say in the future, rather than using your own original research on what is or isn't relevant. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:14, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Handpolk, Sabbatino does seem to have merit to his claim that you are following him around reverting a lot of stuff. Included in that is this, which appears to be you re-inserting a dead link in place of the official team website. So no, you do not appear to be occupying a high ground either. In fact, you both seem to be edit warring across multiple articles right now, and I suggest you both stop. (As an aside, something like this is just terribly formatted, and like I suggest below, the proper course when an addition like that is challenged is to discuss whether the addition is appropriate on a talk page.)
That said, Sabbatino, his revert in this particular case still isn't vandalism, obvious or otherwise. Nor is your dispute on the 2015 NBA Hall of Fame class. These are mere editing disagreements, and the solution to them is to solicit more feedback via the article or project talk pages and try to build a consensus. Resolute 15:27, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
I respect your view that his claims have merit. Mine do as well. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 00:35, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
I'm not the one who started the edit war. He started making personal attacks and saying that I started everything. But no worries as he was reported. – Sabbatino (talk) 16:07, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

July 2015

Information icon Thank you for trying to keep Misplaced Pages free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism are not considered vandalism under Misplaced Pages policy. Misplaced Pages has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage editors. Please read Misplaced Pages:NOTVAND for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. Thank you. TL22 (talk) 22:20, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

You mean adding to Golden State Warriors that the Golden State Warriors won the 2015 NBA Finals is not vandalism? The more you know. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 00:30, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
You should stop escalating a conflict for nothing. Except if you have NPD then I understand why you're so hurt over nothing (no pun intended). – Sabbatino (talk) 08:12, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
This is actual vandalism. Not when somebody cites with sources that a team just won a World Championship on the article of that team. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 08:42, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Yes. However, I consider unsourced material as vandalism unless there's a inserted. – Sabbatino (talk) 09:15, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
And you are wrong. User:ToonLucas22 just warned you about doing that and you need to stop. You don't get to redefine vandalism. Just add the citation needed tag yourself. Handpolk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 09:18, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
I got no warnings from User:ToonLucas22. – Sabbatino (talk) 16:31, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Sabbatino, unsourced material is not vandalism. Please stop characterizing it as such. Resolute 16:46, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Some of the unsourced material IS vandalism. By that I mean that clearly trivial things are vandalism. – Sabbatino (talk) 16:51, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
No, that is not vandalism either. What is "clearly trivial" to you is not necessarily trivial to others. If you remove something as trivial, note it as such and invite people to discuss on the talk page. If they revert you, then again, take it to the talk page or to a project talk page. Please stop labeling it as vandalism. Resolute 16:56, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
You mean to say that this is not vandalism? This is completely trivial and it's clearly vandalism. – Sabbatino (talk) 16:58, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
No, I am saying that this is not vandalism. Your example is vandalism, but mine is simply trivia. Resolute 17:04, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Your example is trivia which is true. While mine example is trivia which has no sources to back it up. Next time I'll add to such sentences/paragraphs/etc. as your example. – Sabbatino (talk) 17:14, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
That would be fine. Thanks! Resolute 17:27, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
No problem. – Sabbatino (talk) 17:54, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Handpolk is almost certainly banned User:DegenFarang

Hi Sabbatino. I haven't followed your interactions with Handpolk, but I wanted to warn you that he is 99% likely a sockpuppet of banned User:DegenFarang. DegenFarang has been banned many times for tendentious editing and for sockpuppetry. He has also made threats against other editors. He is not a genuine editor but rather more of a Wiki arsonist. Be careful. 2005 (talk) 03:55, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
