In a political sense, the term Afghān refers to all the peoples of Afghanistan. From a more limited, ethnological point of view, Afghān is the term by which ethnic Pashtuns are designated by Persian-speakers. Additionally, the language of the Pashtuns is known as Pashto or Afghān language.
