For unkown reasons, Dr.U has chosen to remain anonymous. The band's name, xU, apprently refers to his full name Dr. Ex U. xU may be an allusion to a clandestine intelligence operation in WWII also called XU or to the primary god of the Bushmen of South Africa, !Xu.
xU's music seems to be based in Hip-Hop and alternative music with an emphasis on Scratching.
