Please review MOS:IMAGELOCATION and WP:GALLERY.--Moxy 🍁 01:34, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Images make Misplaced Pages more informative, accessible, and professional.
|
|
- I have read MOS:IMAGELOCATION and WP:GALLERY. I have not edited or added any more images on the article. The UNSESCO image gallery for Asmara has been on the article for months and is added in context to the topic, it is not used excessively. The world heritage site for Asmara includes ALL of Asmara, the city in its entirety is listed as a world heritage site. Therefore the gallery with some images of the buildings are suitable for the article. Leechjoel9 (talk) 09:44, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- It causes unbalance...3 sentences gets 7 images? Looks like the most important thing in the country is buildings...not its people, culture or history. WP:WEIGHT "Undue weight can be given in several ways, including but not limited to depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, juxtaposition of statements and use of imagery. --Moxy 🍁 11:56, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- Why are you still edit warring, Leechjoel9, while not having engaged the dispute on the article talk page? That is where such a discussion belongs. So, you need to do that or you are likely to face sanctions. Please also observe WP:ONUS, which reads:
the onus to achieve consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content.

I have adressed it the involved party. Moxy edited the last version I restored to. I Will engange in the discussion as mentioned on talk page of Moxy, we agreed that something has to be done about the image gallery on the article, the user also tagged the gallery to adress the issue. I Will adjust and adress it on the talk page of the article. Leechjoel9 (talk) 21:48, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
Eritrea: formatting
Hi, I was wondering why you reverted the minor formatting fix I'd previously installed at Eritrea. Can I restore it? Thanks! Eelworm (talk) 18:30, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Tigrayans
Hello friend. Please consider discussing the Tigrayan vs Tgrinyan issue at the article's talk page. Talk:Tigrayans In general, edit warring on Misplaced Pages is bad, and we do not want to have problems with WP:3RR. Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 23:13, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Tigrayans and Tigrinya people can change this same text because they are the same people. Tribes all over the world have the same Misplaced Pages article. Why doesn't this article change? Midre bahri (talk) 11:17, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Concerning your edit here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Eritrea&type=revision&diff=997651129&oldid=997641386
Why do you believe that it is inappropriate to give the name of Eritrea's only legal political party and the name of Eritrea's first and only President in the lead section of the Eritrea article? DeathTrain (talk) 16:18, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- I did not oppose to write that it was the first and only president and the name of political party, Ill add that again. The problem was that sentence before explained pretty much the same. I rewrote first sentence and added correct description of the type of government it has. Leechjoel9 (talk) 16:37, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
OVERLINK, again
For the second time - please do not make links like this per WP:OVERLINK. If you continue to make edits like this then you could be blocked, as your edits could be considered disruptive and you could be viewed as lacking competence to edit. GiantSnowman 19:43, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- I note that, in addition to my reverts and post on your talk page earlier today, @AtticTapestry: has also reverted you citing OVERLINK here. GiantSnowman 19:44, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Kingdom of Aksum
I have notice you are editing warring if wish to discuss about the map feel free. However it is not a dubious map, as you know the extension of the empire is what you see on that map. - Rogeman123 Rogeman123 (talk) 22:53, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
January 2021
Hello, I'm Boud. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. This edit by you was contrary to the talk page consensus. On a sensitive page like this, you should check the talk page before editing, unless your edits are clearly uncontroversial. Boud (talk) 23:16, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Horn of Africa (defined as including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and adjoining areas if involved in related disputes). Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Your revert on Asmara
Why did you revert my revert of the IP? Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was not born and grown up in Asmara? Alex2006 (talk) 19:07, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Alessandro57 I restored it since this person is politically affiliated with a group that is anti-Eritrea which is controversial. Tedros might be born in this city, that does not make him a notable individual to the city or the people of this city, he’s also not of Eritrean origin. A new suggestion the that the whole section of notable people of Asmara should include Eritreans and not non-Eritreans. I will propose this change in the talk page of the article. Leechjoel9 (talk) 18:20, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but I think that you should first read here. The list stays there, and please revert your revert, otherwise I will be forced to report you. Alex2006 (talk) 20:41, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- This is not about censorship, we have different views on the matter. Furthermore I suggest you engage in the newly created section in the talk article. Leechjoel9 (talk) 21:01, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Your edit to Tigrinya people has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Misplaced Pages without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, Misplaced Pages cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. Notice of Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard discussion
Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a report involving you at Misplaced Pages:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement regarding a possible violation of an Arbitration Committee decision. The thread is Leechjoel9. Thank you. Boud (talk) 23:19, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
Template:Ethnic groups in Eritrea and the Eritrean Diaspora
You are the one edit warring, because you keep removing information that is integral to the template. I went to the talk page Template talk:Ethnic groups in Eritrea and the Eritrean Diaspora and posted my response but I haven't heard anything back from you. Here was my statement: "Do not remove the diaspora communities because they are an INTEGRAL part of Eritrean history and the worldwide Eritrean community. AmericanMan18 (talk) 18:58, 3 May 2021 (UTC)" AmericanMan18 (talk) 19:06, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- The template is for ethnic group within Eritrea and not diaspora. Leechjoel9 (talk) 19:08, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- Its for both. If you see the corresponding "Ethnic Groups in and 's Diaspora" templates for other countries, you can see it being used that way. They are all integral ethnic groups within the Eritrean Community which includes both people in Eritrea and people of Eritrean national origin abroad. Removing them is equivalent to saying 'Kunama are not real Eritreans'. AmericanMan18 (talk) 19:16, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- The template is for ethnic group within Eritrea and not diaspora. Leechjoel9 (talk) 19:08, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- You are wrong, it’s for the ethnic groups from Eritrea and not for diaspora Eritreans residing in European countries. For that reason it was removed, your edits don’t seem constructive. This has been addressed to you, so please refrain from edit warring and making non constructive edits or making page redirects. This will most likely get you blocked. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Misplaced Pages, as you did to Massawa, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Alex2006 (talk) 09:19, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Eritrea. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 18:10, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
