On Air with Ryan Seacrest (January 12, 2004-September 17, 2004) was a syndcated TV talk show which was hosted by famous host of American Idol Ryan Seacrest. The show was shot live in the Hollywood & Highland Complex in Hollywood, CA.
The Show
The Show itself was very un-popular when it started. Even though it had very popular guests, and it even featured very popular celeberties, and American Idol contestants who were kicked out the night before, it didn't get good ratings. The Show itself didn't give up, during the Summer of 2004, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest tried to do mass-advertising, but many people often "ignored" the ads. So instead it tried everything, like letting fans meet their favorite celeberties. However in August 2004 45% of it's affiliates have taken the show off the air, which then later on brought to it's cancellation on September 17, 2004.
Critisizm/Controversy
The show mainly didn't get good ratings partially because of it's critisizm and controversy. The show was often crisized by some right-wing groups who said the show itself had a Liberal bias. Ryan Seacrest denies that the show had any sort of bias, although many people don't believe in his statement:
Well I am flattered that I've found out that my afternoon talk Show, On-Air, was crisized by Conservative Groups on the Internet. Well I must tell you,
I have no bias. My show is for everyone, we have policy here at On-Air and it's called a non-bias policy. - Ryan Seacrest.
He also says he is a non-partisan person.
Controversy on On-Air is that it was a pro-stalker show. One reason is because Jasmine Trias, and Ashlee Simpson. Have been stalker-prone since their apperances on On-Air. Ryan also denies that controversy.
Show Facts
It was voted for one of the worst shows in 2004. It is shot live at Hollywood & Highland. Despite low ratings, it had however high ratings during June of 2004.
