Welcome to Misplaced Pages, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Thokcha, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Non-English words are italicised rather than bolded, at Misplaced Pages. what was wrong with my piston position change? all I did was add a link to visualize rod length vs stroke length?
It seemed to me not relevant, that's why I reverted. Please sign your comments, I missed your comment. Seeing now, so replying. --Mamushir (talk) 23:36, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages and copyright
Hello Mamushir, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Your additions to Louise Lincoln Kerr have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Misplaced Pages, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Misplaced Pages:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Misplaced Pages. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Misplaced Pages articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Misplaced Pages project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Misplaced Pages:Translation#How to translate. See also Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moneytrees🏝️ 17:52, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- thanks for pointing out the issue with Louise Kerr Article. I have been trying to improve it for good amount of time. I understood the issue now. I already rewrote a segment of the article. I will be delighted if you can spare some time and give me a feedback on my revision. --Mamushir (talk) 03:33, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Tagging of Michal Rafaeli-Kaduri
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Michal Rafaeli-Kaduri. I do not think that Michal Rafaeli-Kaduri fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because "one of the founders of mutli-channel television industry." is a claim o0f Significence. So are the mentions of her roles within DBS, Zira , , and CSBC. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead, if this was an article, or another process such as MfD or XfD as appropriate. DES DESiegel Contribs 20:24, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- DES, I am learning tagging the pages with CSD. I hope I understood why my tag was wrong, Thanks for letting me know. No, I don't have any wish to go for any other deletion process with the page Michal Rafaeli-Kaduri. As you said, I have crosschecked with the notability guidelines and found your comment to be appropriate. Only that the article needs some references, which I may try to add now. Thank you for your mention. --Mamushir (talk) 23:34, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, Mamushir. All of us here are ewngaged in a learnign process. Whioe you are ceretainoy not required to find and add references to this or any other particular article, doing so is very helpful, and I thank you. September 2020
Hello Mamushir, I am trying to edit the Rob Greenfield (https://en.wikipedia.org/Rob_Greenfield) page to remove some inaccurate and outdated information.
I would like to remove "and hasn't used a shower since April 2013" as this is inaccurate. At the time this article was accurate, but he did shower after 1,000 days.
I would like to remove "has converted to a vegetarian lifestyle and". This is incorrect information as he is not vegetarian.
I would like to remove "and founder of The Greenfield Group." as well as "where he founded The Greenfield Group, an environmentally active marketing company." The Greenfield Group no longer exists and the domain has been registered by another site that Rob is not involved in. It is creating confusion for people going there because of this outdated information on Misplaced Pages.
Thank you for your service to the community and your help with this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.117.131.112 (talk) 16:10, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
68.117.131.112, I did not find your edit supported by enough explanation other than your mere uttering as outdated. You did not provide any references while saying 'outdated'. Please understand that unexplained removal is not a valid editing practice of Misplaced Pages. Please see WP:EP. I am reverting your edit again. If you still think that this revert is unjustified, please show references in support of your claim. Thank you for your service to the community. --☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 17:50, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Vandalism?
How so? 2601:601:9700:9500:C919:D086:194D:4AC6 (talk) 18:31, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Since you're not going to tell me why you consider my edit to be vandalism, I will instead tell you why my edits aren't vandalism, by explaining to you why the edits were made.
To start, obviously the Japanese text should match up with the English translation of the Japanese text, not the shortened/re-named English title, so I fixed that.
Then I saw that it lists "Europe and Australia" when it should stick to listing continents or countries, not a mix, so I changed it to "Europe and Oceania".
Then I thought about it and realized it was missing South Asia and South Africa, so I added "Asia and Africa". In case you don't know, those are places where English is widely spoke. So much so that they make their own English dubs (like Animax Asia's English dub of Dragon Ball Super, which I prefer to Funimation's, and, for an example related to Studio Ghibli, Isao Takahata's Anne of Green Gables got a fantastic English dub made in South Africa). And they do in fact release this movie under the "Laputa" name there.
And then I realized it was ridiculous to say "This is the title...EXCEPT in... instead of "This is the title...EXCEPT in...". So I swapped the order the titles were mentioned to reduce the unnecessary wordage and make the opening sentence more professional.
Then I noticed how inconsistent the article is. Throughout, it goes back and forth from "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" to just "Castle in the Sky" to just "Laputa". Constantly. As well as saying the name far too often in the same paragraph. It's quite the poorly written article, so I touched it up.
Then I noticed even more horrible writing under the "Title" section. It was so bad that I had to almost completely rewrite the first paragraph. It was hard to understand and basically LIES to the reader in its original form. Plus it needs a citation. I can't understand how something so amateurish and un-Misplaced Pages-like is on the page of a movie that's been voted as the BEST animated film ever in Japan. 2601:601:9700:9500:C919:D086:194D:4AC6 (talk) 19:28, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- The IP is right. Their edit is very constructive and definitely is not vandalism. @Mamushir: you can't just revert someone's edit and randomly call it vandalism. Enjoyer of World 00:19, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
2601:601:9700:9500:C919:D086:194D:4AC6, Let me tell you, I don't have any problem to accept if my revert was wrong. But let us see if it was actually or not. Firstly please pay attention to how to edit wikipedia, possibly both you and myself are here for the same reason- to make this encyclopedia better. So my request please don't take anything personal. Next there is something called 'edit summary' where you are supposed to explain the rationale of your edit when you are making some major changes which may not be apparently understandable by other editors. Please keep in mind wikipedia is a collaborative project. The change from the phrase 'Europe and Australia' to 'North America' with a negation and alteration of the order of the sentence where the rationale is primarily obfuscated behind someone's subjective opinion is hardly understandable for any other editor and to judge properly. I believe you are a good faith editor. But your labor could have been minimized if you would have taken the time to write a short rationale in favor of your edit in edit comment. Also, I still believe your change are mostly based on opinion, impression etc and not supported by reliable sources. Please be reminded that in wikipedia we need to cite reliable sources. But since there are other editors like Enjoyer of World (sorry Enjoyer of the World, I can not agree that 'their edit is very constructive') have reverted my edit and have commented here, I am choosing not to express my view into action. Though IMDB is not a reliable source, but still since we have dearth in sources, IMDB says the the movie name to be "Castle in the Sky" and not "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" in english. Yes I can see the Japanese to English translation will give you this, but we can not depend on machine translations. In Netflix you again see the the movie is being referred as "Castle in the Sky" and not "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" irrespective be the Japanese title. So, I don't think you should keep "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" first rather "Castle in the Sky" should come first since this is English Misplaced Pages. Now as far as vandalism yes, your lack of edit comment and apparently random change could possibly make someone else think of it vandalism as well. It was vandalism, apparently. But the rationale behind the revert is surely with which I am standing even now. But I don't have any wish to revert it again, I would prefer to leave that on someone else. I hope you got my answer.--☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 17:44, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- Look, the two titles are official, it's just the matter of geographical location about which title is more commonly known. It is not "based on opinion, impression etc and not supported by reliable sources." Laputa is part of the official title in the country of origin of the film. Also the title of the article already use the WP:COMMONNAME in English, so i hope that answer your concerns. Enjoyer of World 22:15, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Kiameti
Hello Mamushir. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Kiameti, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The IP who blanked the page isn't the same as the IP who authored it, and I don't see any evidence that they're the same person. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at 2020 United States presidential debates. Also unsourced David Biddulph (talk) 06:33, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- David Biddulph, it was possibly a misunderstanding from my part to identify the problem with the series of edits at 2020 United States presidential debates. I misjudged that JoyfulSlate was vandalizing and not the IP. Thanks for reminding me. Good to see that he is blocked. --☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 07:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
Rollback granted
Hi Mamushir. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Misplaced Pages:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ 01:29, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
Other accounts?
Looking at your early contribution history, I get the impression that this is not the first wikipedia account you've had. Could you please list any other accounts you've used? Thanks. -- RoySmith (talk) 13:44, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- RoySmith I don't understand your question well. Misplaced Pages, as a system had been much appealing to me since I was young. Here, we not only get the articles, but can see how the article was produced, who collaborated in what manner that too in chronological order. Such an arrangement and the concept of openly editable online encyclopedia always made me feel intrigued. As you may be aware, our educational system is much stringent and I did not get much time to actively contribute when studying. Even after completing my college education I got employed immediately so I had even lesser time in my hand. Throughout these time I have always roamed trough different venues of Misplaced Pages whenever I could and read about how people interact etc where most other similar forums were not accessible openly, in Misplaced Pages, I could always see what is happening. This transparency was another thing which I liked. But as I said I could not get the time ever to actively be a part of this community though I had always the wish to be the so. This remained so, until when I returned from the onsite assignment from northern Europe few months back when I got the scope to work from home and I seriously thought to get registered in Misplaced Pages and tried to contribute as much as I can in my spare times and make my wish fulfilled. Now I am really enjoying my spare time when I actively do something and see that persisting in Misplaced Pages and thousands of other people are going through it. It is very satisfactory feeling. Anyway, I have never enrolled in Misplaced Pages before. I think I haven't created any problem. But if I have caused some being unaware kindly let me know and I will try to rectify it.--☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 13:48, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Mujeeb Ijaz Article BLP Flag
Mamushir, I take issue with your flag on BLP violations with the Mujeeb Ijaz article. I have been editing Wiki articles for a long time, many of them now in Good Article status. On my very first edit for the article, I made clear myself that I was related to the subject and that my edits would only be for factual corrections or errors in what other editors were doing. Thus far, that is all I have done. In developing any new article, it is important that the first entries are accurate and factual. For example, the first editor listed Mujeeb as a Pakistani citizen when in fact he was born in the United States and is a born US CITIZEN. Such factual errors appeared throughout the article's initial posting and I fixed those without any violation of the neutral point of view. I am therefore asking you to review my posts and remove your tag as it is unwarranted. Thank you Mansoor Ijaz (talk) 17:57, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Mansoor Ijaz Thanks for making your connection with the subject explicitly clear. Your acknowledgement in fact endorses my tagging. Since you are an experienced editor, you must be knowing already WP:COI. As per my understanding, concerned article is still suffering from some issues and your edit has violated the norms of WP:COIEDIT which says "Editors with a COI should follow Misplaced Pages policies and best practices scrupulously:you should disclose your COI when involved with affected articles;you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly;you may propose changes on talk pages (by using the {{request edit}} template) , or by posting a note at the COI noticeboard, so that they can be peer reviewed; so on so forth". In any case, accept my regards for your good works at other articles where you don't have COI. ☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 16:06, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Mamushir, indeed I did mention in my very first edit the relationship to the subject. I followed COI scrupulously. How can we fix this? Your tag gives impression of bias when in fact not a single edit I made had any bias in it, just factual corrections. I am happy to take any further edits to my Sandbox and work with you and/or other editors to insure the content in this article is accurate. FYI, I knew personally some of the other subjects whose articles I edited and brought to good article status precisely because of knowledge that corrected errors that existed previously. Perhaps we can come to a compromise that is in keeping with WIKI standards? Please advise. Thank you. Mansoor Ijaz (talk) 16:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

NLP++
Mamushir:
I am new to making a page for wikipedia and just added the NLP++ page. The NLP++ language has gone open source and was not public until December 2018. It now being open source and being used by the public, it is a "real" computer language and the page I made is patterned on other computer language pages.
Being new, what do I need to do to get the page published?

Lydia West
- see Misplaced Pages article It's a Sin (TV series) broadcast from 22 January 2021; in which Lydia West plays one of the two leads. If Lydia has played a leading role in two major TV drama series; she would appear to pass the tests for WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG. In my view. TomHennell (talk) 22:28, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

- I suggest you watch it right through then. The three named male leads are the 'newbies'; Lydia plays Jill Baxter - the fifth member of the household - and, by the final episode, the key survivor. Indeed, Russell T Davies has revealed that the character of Jill Baxter is based on that of his friend, Jill Nalder (who plays Baxter's mum in the series); written with the deliberate intention of prompting the viewer to read the unfolding events of the period through Jill's eyes. Speedy deletion nomination of Ehmiat
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ehmiat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

- Jupitus Smart, there was a delay in your tagging speedy A7, just after I moved the page to draft. So, the twinkle sent the notice to my talk page. ☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 16:45, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Mamushir: Seems the problem has been solved now. Don't think draftying would be of much help as the topic is fundamentally non notable. No harm in trying though. Jupitus Smart 16:48, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I thought to draftily as the page was A7'd just yesterday. Anyways, as you said, the problem is solved. ☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 16:51, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Saiva Siddhanta Church
Aloha from the Garden Island of Kauai!
Greetings from Kauai’s Hindu Monastery. I am one of the senior monks living here, and a trustee of our several corporations: Hindu Heritage Endowment, Saiva Siddhanta and Himalayan Academy.
We are trying to get an accurate statement on Misplaced Pages about our name, and we understand you have changed Saiva Siddhanta Church to Saiva Siddhanta Temple online. We understand what is behind your gesture. There are many who feel a Hindu institution should not be called a Church. But our founder had very specific reasons for this name, and it has served us well in the Western world where people understand a church as a complex institution of lay members, clergy, mission efforts, places of worship, etc.
It is our request that you honor this decision of our founder and our current leadership (I am Vice-President) and change the title of the article back to Saiva Siddhanta Church. Importantly, it is accurate, and it means a lot to us and to our fellowship around the world in many nations.
Mahalo, that's our Hawaiian "Thank You!" Anantashakti (talk) 02:42, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
- Anantashakti, thanks for your message. Your concern has been taken care of by another editor already I believe. But please be careful about the Misplaced Pages's policy about Conflict of Interest. ☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 23:48, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
About Saiva Siddhanta Temple
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you tried to give Saiva Siddhanta Temple a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Saiva Siddhanta Church. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Misplaced Pages has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Misplaced Pages:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - Whpq, I am not sure what gave you the idea that the move made by me was an instance of cut-paste move. This edit history can explain. If I am mistaken, please let me know. But I think the movement done by me was perfectly fine except the points mentioned by Anantashakti which I believe has already been taken care by another editor as the reversal of my move. ☆★Mamushir (✉✉) 23:46, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- It looks like I misread the article history. Sorry. -- Whpq (talk) 00:10, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
