Method Mans name was originally Clifford Smith. Clifford was raised in both Long Island and Staten Island this was because his parents were not living together so that meant he had to travel between two homes every now and then. Method AMn is a well known east coast rapper.As a child Method changed his name from Clifford Smith to Shakuan God Allah, he changed his name because he thought Clifford Smith was a slaves name. Methods father taught him to play the drums and he also learnt poetry, his father has made a big influence on him while he was growing up. by learning poetry this has meant he has been able to make a career in the music industry which has all paid off. Not only was Method interested in music he was also fasinated in comic books, at times he would imagine him self as a comic book character the character he loved to imagine him self as alot of the time was Ghost Rider. Method once worked at the Statue of Liberty but that job didnt last long because he didnt like the wage that he was being paid. after leaving the job at the Statue of Liberty he went on to sell drugs on the streets.alot of people knew that he wouldnt be on the streets for a long time as they could see how much music meant to him so they could see that he would make it big in the music industry. Method got together with a group of people who also had the same interests in music as he did.they guys got rapping and writing poetry together and soon after they decided to get together as a music group so they called them selves 'The Wu-Tang-Clan'. the first song to be released from Method Man was 'The Panty Rider'. In staten Island method was well known as Shakuan the Poet because of the rhyms he wrote. Before Wu-Tang actually started recording in an actual studio they were only recording there songs in RZA's house until RZA got together some recording time in a studio but for there songs to be recorded they each had to pay $100. the first album that Wu-Tang brought out was called 'Enter the Wu-tang(36 Chambers)' which LOUD Records released. A year after their album came out Method Man was the signed to DEF JAM Records with a solo deal. Methods first albumn was called 'Tical' this album sold over 1 million copies. All his hard had soon paid off as he won a Grammy for his song 'All i need' At times Method Man gets together with Redman and compile a few collaborations. the first song that was released by the pair was 'How High' which was featured in the movie HOW HIGH. In 1999 the pair got together once again and produced a song called 'Black Out'.
