Saudi Arabia lies in the western part of the Asian continent at the junction of the European Asian and African continent 2409:4064:E88:8936:5D98:CBDD:7F90:72B3 (talk) 12:49, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- It is irrelevant. Saudi Arabia is never considered a part of the Indian Subcontinent. 120.16.231.111 (talk) 01:08, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
Indian subcontinent is not India!
I want to complain about the main map used in the Infobox. Why use the national colour of India? The Indian subcontinent is not India! All maps in Misplaced Pages use the dark green colour, why is this one using the national colour of India? It is an insult to the other six South Asian countries. I am very angry, please change it immediately. (•̀へ •́ ╮ ) 120.16.115.111 (talk) 06:39, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
Bhutan is not a republic
"Geopolitically, it includes the republics of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka." This reads wrong to me as Bhutan is a kingdom, not a republic. 190.99.68.2 (talk) 05:57, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Wrong Map
The map used doesn't show complete India. The Gilgit Baltistan and Aksai Chin are considered part of India as per accepted Indian Map. Pranav Maheshwari (talk) 16:02, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
“India” can refer to the entire subcontinent
I don’t know how to add citations in wiki articles, so I’ll post a source here:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/India
First definition provides affirmation.
I’m not sure why this was ever in dispute anyway, to the person that reverted my edit. Why do you think it’s called the INDIAN subcontinent? Seth9719 (talk) 08:20, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- Dictionaries aren't authoritative sources. MrOllie (talk) 13:56, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Merriam-Webster is a reliable source. Seth9719 (talk) 17:36, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- That link claims the first use of the term was in 1952, which is obviously incorrect. If you want to convince people to make this change to the article you're going to need a better source than a dictionary. MrOllie (talk) 17:56, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
