Ohio University Navbox Logo

Hi Sapienna. I'm not JJMC89, but the file that was removed from the Ohio University navbox is licensed as non-free content, whereas the file being used in the Miami University navbox is licensed as public domain; so, even though they're both logo files so to speak, they're not subject to the same Misplaced Pages policies due to their difference in licensing. Simple text or wordmark logos, for reference, are generally considered to be too simple to be eligible under copyright protection under US copyright law; therefore, there are less restrictions placed upon their use on Misplaced Pages pages. If you would like to use a logo file in the Ohio University navbox, you can use something like File:Ohio Bobcats wordmark.svg instead since it too is too simple to be treated as non-free content. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:00, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
