Wrong name

The sources appear to be wrong here. I know that makes no difference on Misplaced Pages, even though they are websites and are quite possibly recirculating their information.

The guy was actually Joseph Thorp (no "e"), lived at 60 Bury New Road, Whitefield, Manchester in 1909, drank in the nearby Beehive pub and had his death reported under that name (Joseph Thorp) and with the same clubs, in the Bury Times in 1956.

I know members of his family and have known people who drank with him in that pub. There are also photos of him which correspond to the sources. As far as the family are aware, he wasn't called James/Jimmy at all, not even as an additional name to Joseph. Thorp (no e) is a very common variant of Thorpe in these parts. - Sitush (talk) 15:25, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
