Often I see reports on www.interfax.com about killings and such, but the articles brought up in the search can't be clicked. How could I source these events? - PietervHuis (talk) 01:18, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

References don't necessarily have to be links , you can also add a reference without a URL (example). The only problem would be that you probably haven't been able to read the article yourself in order to verify its content.ForrestSjap (talk) 09:22, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I think a casualty box would be nice. Just like the the one in 2008 timeline of the War in Somalia. It makes it easier to see all the deaths. What do you guys think? Furious Stormrage (talk) 19:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Could do, but it can be very misleading, because many of the deaths go unreported, especially civilian casualties. And the first few years aren't well documented at all (the era of major fighting). - PietervHuis (talk) 20:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I support having one, at least in 2008 phase. State clearly "only deaths independently confirmed"--TheFEARgod (Ч) 20:54, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't know where to place those killed by federals who are alleged rebels but declared innocent by other reliable sources. - PietervHuis (talk) 22:17, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Well at the end of the day the Rebels and the Russians are going to transmit news that's favourable to them. If an independent news source that has no ties to the conflict contradicts something they say. I think it's best if we just follow the independent source but mention what the Russians/Rebels have said. Furious Stormrage (talk) 10:46, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

kavkazcenter

kavkazcenter is not considered a reliable source. By adding it you spread terrorist/rebel propaganda.--TheFEARgod (Ч) 20:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

name of conflict?

As you see, vast majority of the attacks are happening outside Chechnya and hardly even involve Chechens in either side. I would propose global reorganisation, and to name these sections "North-Caucasian conflict" instead of "Second Chechen War". State of clarity (talk) 09:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Misplaced Pages. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
