The murder of Kongara Nagamani,took place in the state in the South Indian state of Telangana.Kongara Nagamani was murdered in an honor killing as she had married a Dalit (an untouchable) by her brother.
Background
Kongara Nagamani was a police constable. She had married Srikkanth a dalit with whom she had studied in the same school and had known each other for 10 years.
Murder
Just 3 weeks after there marriage her brother Parmesh murdered her and surrendered to the police.
