If you are unable to create an account due to your institution's IP address being blocked, follow these instructions. If you are autoblocked repeatedly, contact your network administrator or instructor and request that your school contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on its proxy servers so that blocks will affect only the intended user.Administrators: review contributions carefully if blocking this IP address or reverting its contributions. If a block is needed, consider a soft block using {{School block}}. In response to vandalism from this IP address, abuse reports may be sent to its network administrator for investigation.

About this IP

Very likely this originates from Allerton High School: see e.g. this edit: ; also "ping www.allertonhigh.leeds.sch.uk" shows "194.74.199.50". Lambiam 10:59, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Leeds Learning Network

This IP is actually part of a block assigned to the Leeds Learning Network (external site) and as such could be assigned to most of the schools in the city. Allerton High School is part of this network. I am commenting here from Temple Moor High School (Also on LLN), and recieve edit blocks due to this. Is there any way of forcing only registered users from one IP address? --194.74.199.42 09:53, 8 February 2006 (UTC) (jacksonj04)

I can confirm this. I have tried (although obviously not now, as it's half eleven on a Friday night) to access from Priesthorpe High School and have recieved edit blocks due to this IP address being, well, blocked. If there is a way of forcing registered users from one IP it would be very useful. Whilst I understand the need to eliminate vandalism as far as possible, it is effectively cutting off an entire cities school access (Leeds is one of the largest cities in the UK), and limiting, especially, Leeds's young people of lower socio-economic status from contributing to Misplaced Pages. Lawful Hippo 23:41, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages is one of the best resources around, and I, commenting from Leeds Learning Network, think that the block is a good idea, but it will be ineffective soon. LLN is switching providers from BT to another provider, and prehaps changing IP. Please do something about this, prehaps an email for the new Ip address, so I can continue to use this resource without the point vandolism by, not my school, but Allerton High School. Thanks

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Misplaced Pages. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text, deliberate misinformation, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. --Deathphoenix 14:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

You have recently vandalized a Misplaced Pages article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Misplaced Pages, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Misplaced Pages's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Misplaced Pages, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor and create an account. Again, you are welcome here at Misplaced Pages, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.
