Brown's Gas is a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen gas, produced the electrolysis of water, promoted by Yull Brown as a welding fuel. It is sometimes claimed by others to have special properties the defy the laws of physics.
Applications
One application might be for welding if the resulting recombination could actually produce very hot heats. Oxygen is known to oxidize metals but such bonds are extremely weak.
Another application could be to power internal combustion engines. Research into Brown's Gas largely follows transferring energy production cost from the gas tank to the electrical outlet. Websites such as http://waterpoweredcar.com/hydrobooster2.html use the phrase "Water Powered Car" to refer to adding a hydrogen booster tank to a normal diesel motor and thus possibly improving diesel miles per gallon. Websites such as http://www.calcars.org/ reflect an effective price per gallon of wall power at 75 cents when compared to $3 for the same distance for 1 gallon of gas. This comparison is for Electric Vehicles but the same lowered cost of gas is being promoted for water power. In this vein but an extreme claim, Brown's Gas proponents claim applying a resonant sonar to the electrolysis drastically decreases the power needed to separate water and can result in greater output in energy than required to separate Hydrogen and Oxygen in water.
