Finnish level 4

Since there are now 4 levels of many languages (plus native), you may wish to upgrade your fi-3 to fi-4 (which I just created), if you feel it is the right thing to do. I contacted you because you were the only other person in category fi-3. --Janke | Talk 23:42, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Tervist, lugesin läbi mõned Teie kommentaarid ja olin ausalt öeldes üllatunud nende sügavusest ja autori heast stiilist. Way to go :=))

  • Naissaare nimetuses on ikkagi "Nõukogude" (mis on ka loogiline - olemata seejuures muidugi Nõuk. liiduvabariik) - webilehekülje tegija on nähtavasti kirjutanud mälu järgi "Sotsialistlik" ja eksinud. Please take part in the improval of this article

Hello. I would like to inform you that there is an ongoing discussion at article Territorial claims of the Baltic States (formerly was known as "Lost territories of the Baltic States", but was recently renamed; some users seems to disagree with that renaming). Recent edits as well were accused of POV, and, in fact, article was disputed for a long time already. There are currently no Estonian contributors to that article, therefore your opinion is much needed. It would be nice if you would add that article to your watchlist and continue helping to improve it until a decition will be reached about its future (there is currently a poll about it in the article's talk page). I hope together we all will be able to make that article neutral. Kaiser 747 10:23, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:180px-Olevistekirik3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:180px-Olevistekirik3.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. bluemask 09:43, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Ivangorod

Please say where exactly in the http://www.ivangorod.ru is there a sentence(s) which states that Narva and Ivangorod were considered to be a single city? Thanks in advance Burann 11:56, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Tervist! Loon hetkel artiklit, mis käsitleb Nõukogude rünnakuplaane 1939 a-st kuni sõja puhkemiseni 22. juunil 1941. Hello

Hi, I see that you are from Estonia, thus I thought you would be interested in the Baltic States notice board. Here people interested in the region post new articles, articles needing attention, and the ongoing related discussions. It would be smat for you to add the board to your watchlist and check it from time to time to make sure you keep up with what's going on. This way you could also take part! As well, please use the board to tell others about the articles you write yourself, so others could check and improve them. It would be nice if you would nform other Estonian contributors about the board too, because now it seems there are more Lithuanians and Latvians there than Estonians. Thanks! use of d'Hondt in Estonia's 3rd tier

Tere! :)

Many thanks for your explanation of the use of d'Hondt in Estonia 3rd tier! Unfortunately, I only now noticed your post at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:D%27Hondt_method

"There are 101 seats in the Estonian parliament and in the past elections the breakdown between the mandates awarded in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (" d'Hondt* ") rounds of counting have been the following: in 1992: 17, 24, 60*; in 1995: 15, 34, 52*; in 1999: 11, 44, 46*; and in 2003: 14, 60, 27*."

Is this analysis from private resources (in other words, your own calculations) or has it been published? It's very interesting to me that there appears to be a trend that the number of representatives elected at the 2nd tier of counting has steadily increased, so that it comprised a majority at the last election in 2003. But, I'm curious about one aspect: is there further analysis that indicates which electoral districts have the least popular representatives, i.e., those who were elected at the 3rd tier? Do they represent less-developed agricultural areas?

I'm fairly knowledgeable about Latvia's electoral system and that does discriminate against those voters living in smaller electoral districts - which happen to be the less-developed agricultural areas.

Many thanks, again! : )

3 Löwi, thank you for your input into the article Klooga concentration camp. I had been having a rather difficult time trying to source much of it. I greatly appreciate your help with fact-checking. Unfortunately, so many accounts from this era are either unable to be substatiated, or just wrong. I really appreciate the effort on your part.

I am currently (tentatively) working on and article of Avdy Andresson and was wondering if you could possibly help me with any information? I would greatly appreciate it. I have been having a very difficult time finding much pertinent information. Thank you again ExRat 09:48, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Estonian History

Terre!

You have reverted my entry, and I am puzzled as to why this should be the case.

Firstly, I placed a comment about what I thought was missing on the discussion page, but this elicited no response. It was only then that I made my entry.

Secondly, you seem to imply that history is not about people. If it is not, I do wonder what on earth it is about. Surely, the history of the Estonian people and Estonia are one and the same thing? That is the way that most people in Western Europe would look at it, and the way our general history books are written.

There is indeed, a wikipedia entry on the Estonian People, but it is not particularly informative, and would not be the first port of call for someone wanting historical information.

The page already has a reference to the origins of the Estonian people, but it is not an interpretation that many in Western Europe would recognise. I only discovered the other version for myself upon visits to Estonia. Don't you think that it would be a good idea if both interpretations were given?

I don't intend to do anything further until I know your thoughts on this matter.

Hakkapeliitta

Hallo Drei Löwen! I've noticed your contributions of Estonian topics in the past and found your name while searching for a Finnish-speaking contributor. Would you mind taking a look at Hakkapeliitta? I tried to clean the article up by providing a better layout and removing some POV statements. Would you mind checking to see if any of the Finnish words are spelled incorrectly (or anything else incorrect that you notice)? Olessi 20:56, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

European regions map

Someone has suggested that the map currently on Eastern Europe, European Regions 16.png, be replaced. I think that it is a good map, but that it would be better if the colors were explained. Do you think you could do that? Thanks, Kjkolb 08:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

POV pushing again?

Hello, my friend. If I see you routinely replacing "Russian" with "Old East Slavic" and other self-devised bullshit, I'll start replacing "Estonians" in pre-18th century context with "Old South Finns" as routinely as you do. Take care, Ghirla 18:21, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

PD image tag

Hello,

Could you please clarify the source of commons:Image:Finno_Ugric_Languages.png ? The source is described as "IMIU" but this abbreviation isn't defined. It might be "Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University" but I can't find it on their website (it's all in Arabic, which I can't read). The only Google hits I can find are from Misplaced Pages.

Also, the {{PD}} tag on it is now obsolete - please replace it with a more specific template.

Cut & Paste

Do NOT move pages by cutting & pasting the content. That's wrong because article history gets lost. If you cannot properly move an article, ask one of the admins to do it for you, or request a move on WP:RM. I fixed the mess with Baltic States. Please don't do it again. A tag has been placed on Asper Biotech, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Misplaced Pages. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Steve (Slf67) 10:08, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Martens Postimees 1909.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Martens Postimees 1909.JPG. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 16:08, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Congress of Estonia

Your edits to Congress of Estonia have not been very helpfull. Also your edit summaries, "typical pro-Russian imperialist POV and factual errors" are not too civil. If was really pushing a POV expressing my own opinion telling the truth, I would say, that the Congress of Estonia was a rasict organization with the aim of establishing an apartheid state. If I was pushing the Russian POV, I would say that they intened to restore the fascist state and hoped to achieve ethnic cleansing. -- Petri Krohn 17:08, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, 3 Löwi. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Estonia-small-coa.png) was found at the following location: User:3 Löwi. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
