Tawker is taking a short wikibreak and will be back on Misplaced Pages soon.

Ok, the bot takes care of almost everything I do, I'm swamped with work right now. I'm outta here. If you need anything urgent, email me. -- Tawker 01:03, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Removal of template acknowledging source of imported material

Please see Template talk:EnPW. I see that a dozen or more pages had that acknowledgment removed "per Danny". A violation of license, on the face of it. Robin Patterson 18 Feb 2007

Master Nan

I assume you are the one who deleted the article on Master Nan. I can't understand why you did that as the sources were cited and corrections were made to avoid copyright infringement. Moreover, at the time the only tag on the article was for the article to be cleaned up. All I did was try to reiterate some facts on a famous buddhist scholar and all the work put into it has been deleted in a flash and without warning. I cannot claim to be tech savvy enough to know whether you are directly responsible, but if so, it makes unfamiliar and new contributors like myself have a strong sense of distaste that there is not even the chance for correction. What's the point of trying to establish an article if it keeps on getting deleted before it's done. If you could please give specific reasons why it was deleted as the article was rewritten to avoid copyright infringement.

Methinks Colbert just claimed his account.....

http://www.ifilm.com/video/2858381/show/17677

It seems that Tawker is blocking the account to garner some unwarranted relevancy/fame for doing so.71.177.82.26

He never once claimed that the account was indeed his, and Jimmy, after contacting Colbert's staff about it, has made clear that the account should remain blocked. Let it go. AmiDaniel (talk) 09:55, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
I never posted the ifilm link, don't assume. Moving on, then Tawker should remove the "if and when" etc., from his reasons, it just reads as sad.71.177.82.26

Jason Calacanis

I have reason to believe that Jason has been hiring Wikipedians for his Mahalo venture. There has been a wave of advertising targeted at Misplaced Pages over the last few days. This is more than just random noise. I am thinking about bringing this to WP:COIN and WP:SSP. Do you have any information on this?

I see you added Mahalo to Calacanis' page with a reference. That's proper, and now that it's sourced, I would even support adding a disambiguation comment to Mahalo. However, I have a big problem with this being done by people on Mahalo payroll, and I have an even bigger problem with them deleting other stuff from the Mahalo page in an attempt to WP:OWN it.

I am going to point User:Durova to this and ask for her comments aswell. Jehochman 22:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I have not hired any Wikipedians to work on Mahalo.com nor have I asked anyone from our staff to edit our page. In fact, I requested our page be completed via the Misplaced Pages channels. Also, if I did hire some Wikipedians to work at Mahalo would that be a bad thing? Hasn't Jimmy Wales hired a bunch of Wikipedians to work at Wikia? JasonCalacanis 22:32, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
I am glad to hear that you are following WP:COI. You're welcome to hire anybody you like, including Wikipedians, as long as they follow that policy. Now, if only we can get you to sign your posts by adding four (~) at the end, like this ~~~~.  ;-) Jehochman 23:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
OK, so when are you starting!?!? :-) Seriously, I think that there are many Wikipedians who would do a great job at Mahalo.com. However, right now we're only hiring folks to work in our office in Santa Monica. If you know anyone in Los Angeles looking for a gig certainly send them my way! (oh yeah, I know about the four tilda thing...) JasonCalacanis 23:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Userpage

Hey Tawker :) Could you do me a favor and undelete the entire history of my userpage. Thank you! — Moe ε 23:41, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks again :) — Moe ε 23:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

What did you do?

Tawker: Only now do I see that you blocked me on 19 May 07 . I was not online at that time so it did not come to my notice until now (4 June 07) so your action is totally lost on me because you should have let me know what was steaming you off and to see if I may have had something to say in my defense. I am not under any probation for anything. You should have advised me on my talk page before pushing your buttons. I have no idea why you acted against me then without giving me some warning. Can you explain yourself please so that I do not need to take further action against you. IZAK 02:21, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi again: In fact, because I want to learn from the past, I went back and reviewed my editing history for the 17th and 18th May , leading up to your weird block, and I can find absolutely NO instance of "(talk page spamming / POV pushing / incivility)" during that time. Can you please explain yourself! IZAK 02:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Request

Tawker: Since you have failed to provide me with any proof or verifiable reasons (see WP:CITE and WP:V) why you instituted the block against me, and the best you can do is tell me (in violation of Misplaced Pages:Avoid weasel words) on my talk page that: "Someone had brought it up on #wikipedia and had presented a fair number of diffs IIRC (this was over a week ago). I'm pretty sure I did post those diffs - not sure exactly why it didn't show up (maybe there was a loss of session and I didn't see it) In any case, what's past is past, you can edit now so all seems well to me." And I will repeat here what I sated to you in response:

Where, what? Who posted what diffs? I need to know exactly so that I can at least understand what was happening and see if there is any explanation. What the heck is "#wikipedia" -- do you think I am a moron? I do not appreciate your condescending comment here of "what's past is past" as you are thereby violating WP:OWN, and I certainly do not need your permission to edit anything AFAIK. I never heard of you or met you before. What do you know or have to do with Judaism articles where I mostly tend to edit?

And I have still not heard anything from you. I hereby request that you permanantly erase and remove and edit out (whatever the correct technical term is) from my Misplaced Pages Block page log your false and misleading "block" that you admit has no record and which you instituted against me without a single warning or indication of wrongdoing beyond generalized accusations in the/your edit summary of that block ONLY. Kindly see to it that this is done ASAP and I also expect you to apologize for your gross misconduct and misuse of admin "powers". IZAK 04:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Try dispute resolution, it tells you the steps you can follow with your disagreement. 05:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Uhh IZAK, the log says May 20, 2006, not May 19th 2007. Might want to rethink things. 05:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Mistake

Hi Tawker, I have struck my above comments, after I received the following message: "He blocked you 20 May 06, over a year ago. 05:50, 4 June 2007 (UTC)"

However, even so, I have no memory of you contacting me then either or why you did what you did without warning. Do you have any memory of your actions as I would still like to clarify why you blocked me? IZAK 06:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
