Skin (Japanese band)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. - Cyrus XIII 02:16, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to the Skin article have been entirely undiscussed, extremely opinionated, and very unencyclopedic. Please utilize the discussion page before taking matters into your own hands. Each issue should be addressed individually with a discussion and the input of several opinions on how to best fit the article to Misplaced Pages policies, while keeping it informative. Further edits will be considered vandalism if no discussion takes place. Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia, not a personal fanpage. --Jacob 02:40, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

As far as sourcing goes on the Skin page, please see WP:MUSTARD, WP:MOS-JP, and the WP:MOS. Reading these policies thoroughly should provide better understanding. Another important issue is the supergroup labelling. Please read the page on supergroups, and you should see that the band meets the criteria for such categorization. You've engaged in revert warring and you have NOT utilized the talk page for the article. You MUST use the talk page and MUST come to consensus before making major changes. --Jacob 02:49, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Many people have removed your editing, the article had a poor layout, contained nonsense, and was in general poorly written. Reasons were given when changing the article in a major way, you refuse to provide any source for your information, why it was poorly written, and in general avoid all questions.

Many anonymous users editing a page to read like a fansite does not constitute a change in entire policies. The article being "poorly written" is quite a subjective statement. The article meets many of Wikipedias policies and is maintained by many reliable editors with a reputable background in article composition. The layout is standard, and while it may not yet be aesthetically pleasing, there is not a thing wrong with it, and it will continue to become easier on the eyes as more information is available ot create a significant article body.
Your claims of no citations are entirely false, as the article contained numerous citations previous to your vandalism, and you have yet to reincorporate those citations into your current edit. You have yet to even attempta a civil discussion on the article talk page, and you continue to engage in revert warring. It will be extremely helpful if you register for a free Misplaced Pages account, rather than remainign anonymous and unknown, as you could be (no accusations are inentional) the same person as one or more of the previous vandals present on the Skin article. For more credibility, register or log in to a Misplaced Pages account, and remain respectful and civil when editing articles. You may want to also refer to the policies I have provided above to understand the reasoning the article was written the way it was, as you have broken many policies. The issues that need addressing are the supergroup status, the "Visual Kei" labeling, and the removal of large amounts of content and citations. --Jacob 04:27, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

The article was re-written with the same information, in a clear and precise way (while the previous sentences were poorly written, as if a child had written it)

They are not being labeled as a Visual Kei band, they have been correctly labeled as a band that is comprised of various Visual Kei musicians.

I don't mean to be rude, but I am 40 years old, and have had almost 20 years experience within the Japanese music scene, I have lived most of my life in Japan, and speak Japanese. Yoshiki is well known because of his former band X Japan, he is the only member from this band to have had major success and an influence. Gackt is a known TV personality, but not a major musician, and mentioning the names Miyavi or Sugizo, the majority of people won't know who you are talking about. Therefor S.K.I.N can not be considered a supergroup.

The links that were removed, had no significance to the article (its like getting a link to say Bjork is a female from Iceland) It does not need to be sourced.

As for the name, it is officially S.K.I.N, as stated by Yoshiki. The name Skin can not be used, as British singer Deborah Dyer goes under the name Skin.

To be honest, what you (if it was you) had written, was fandom, to some extent wrong, and poorly written!
