Please Help Me

I have searched to no avail on why all applications I'm running that run on GTK (most all of them) just don't work. I saw your screenshots of XFCE running Gaim on OpenBSD 3.9 and that is what I want. How did you get everything running? I know you probably don't want random people asking for help on non-WP issues, but I haven't been able to find anything and I've looked for hours and hours, reinstalled OpenBSD several times, but I couldn't figure out how to get everything working. Please tell me how you got to the screenshot. Sorry if I've wasted your time, but I really need help. Contact me at fatal.serpent@gmail.com Please help! Fatalserpent 00:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

don't be evil

Indecent exposure

Why do you revert 100% of my edits on this article. I can understand why you may not have liked the photo captions, although they weren't any worse than what was there, but I believe all of my copy edits were a big improvement. Previously it was verbose, excessively detahed, and rambling into unrelated topics like wetsuits and mens swimsuits. Some was unsubstantiated BS like flashing being invented in the 1960s. I wrote more on this in discussion for the article. I'm annoyed with you for simply wiping away some good copy editing work with no rationale.

None of you edits were productive, part of them were vanalisms, therefore they were reverted. Janizary 15:44, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Civility

You appear to be knowledgeable. Well done. However, work on the civility or go away. It's not optional on Misplaced Pages. This applies using your user name or IP. Misplaced Pages is not Slashdot. Thanks! - David Gerard 12:30, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Janizary, DavidGerard is correct that civility is non-negotiable here. This edit was rather uncivil. Please find a way to contribute to Misplaced Pages without addressing other editors in such a disrespectful tone. I believe you'll find that a "civility be damned" attitude will run you into walls around here pretty quickly. We really like editors who are unfailingly courteous with each other; at some point we even insist on it. Friendly editing makes for a better Misplaced Pages! -GTBacchus 22:56, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

'Positive promotional' licenses

Such licenses are not considered acceptable for Misplaced Pages. We thus consider such images to be equivalent to fair use images, and equally removeable from userspace based on that. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 04:20, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi there,

Please notice my comment at Talk:Theo_de_Raadt#Alphabetical_sort_order_2.

Your comments are welcome.

AfD

Sorry, I was working on the AfD nomination, but I got involved in another discussion and seemed to have forgotten about it. I'm currently finishing it up, so I'll be adding back Afd1 template soon.--TBCTaLk?!? 03:54, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Open Source Unix

I guess we disagree on whether this is a separable topic or not. But your repeated reverts without using the talk page makes it impossible for anyone else to see your arguments. Could you please state your reasoning on Talk:Open source Unix? --Alvestrand 06:59, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Noboc.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Noboc.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Absoluteopenbsdcover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Absoluteopenbsdcover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog) 01:43, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
