My sort of recollection of Misplaced Pages sites is they are a bit, sort of, a bit anti-government, they are sort of a bit negative about people in the government. That is my recollection of them, so maybe we should fire people up to edit them.
- Alexander Downer, former Liberal Minister for Foreign Affairs. Downer declares Misplaced Pages "anti-government", 24/8/07.

I wasn't really paying attention; half-listening as we tend to do. Then Howard said it: 'Working families in Australia have never been better off.' My jaw dropped. I remember ringing Swannie soon after and telling him, 'Mate, this is a huge moment'.
- Tim Gartrell, ALP national secretary, Don't let this fresh face fool you, 1/12/07.

Election-eve two party preferred polls: Galaxy/Newspoll 52, Roy Morgan 54.5, ACNielsen 57 percent for Labor.
Timeshift's election prediction was more or less on the money - a ~6 percent swing to Labor at ~53 percent.

19.13: Wayne Swan just said Labor could win Dobell on the primary vote. Pundits have been saying people aren’t waiting with a baseball bat for John Howard. They were clearly waiting with something though - perhaps in a final irony it was a cricket bat.
- Lincoln Archer, news.com.au journalist. Election night at our place, 24/11/07.

Brendan Nelson will not last 18 months. When he rang to offer me some paltry position on his front bench, I told him to shove it up his arse.
- Liberal MP, Behave yourself and you'll win: Howard to Libs, 9/12/07.

But, most importantly, what is the Liberal Party? It has, historically, two main objectives: to gain office and to keep the ALP out. It has failed comprehensively on both counts.
- Norman Abjorensen, abc.net.au journalist. Rebuilding Liberals' shattered remnants, 29/11/07.
