Hank Steinbrenner

(this is a response from what happened on 12/18)

Fair enough, part of what I wrote was not neutral I guess.

But the fact that Hank Steinbrenner worked for the US Soccer Federation, played soccer in college, and coached a high school team in the early 90s should not have been removed. It's FACT. These are truths about a semi-famous man that not many people know about. So why didn't you just remove the one sentence instead of removing the whole thing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.17.215.235 (talk) 17:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

I called it

I told you. They just can't help themselves. They just love to disappoint. Keeper | 76 17:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

:Keeper76 previously wrote: Tis typical of my boys though. Just when you think you can stop the love, they pull a 4-game streak out their collective butts and get positive mention on ESPN. They will most certainly lose the next three. Callin' it. Playoffs? chya. I'm not a pessimist. Just a realist. They've done nothing in their existence to make me believe anything but heartache will follow... Keeper | 76 18:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

You hate loving sports? Ha. I love hating sports. I can't seem to get a team to do a dam thing worth ESPN airtime. I have lost exactly zero sleep over my little dreadmonkeys though. I expected it. It was so remarkedly inevitable that I laughed out loud when the heartstring story of 2007 went up 25-nil. It's the Viking way. Of course, I did watch the Patriots game. I'm so tired of the Patriots. I will them to lose first round. Oh, the humanity of a wasted season that would be. Best of luck to your boys. I won't be chearing for them. I'm feelin' Tampa Bay-ish, if for no other reason than nobody outside the panhandle is with me, and it turns out I'm a footbal glutton for punishment. Keeper | 76 20:56, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

You make me laugh out loud. Thanks for your support. I'm officially in the Giants camp now, although you'd like it better if I weren't knowing my track record. I abhor Dallas, these guys are too close to home, and these guy's coach bugs me, probably from his Packhistory. Keeper | 76 21:34, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Peacock

I saw your {{Peacock}} on Tyrone Wheatley. Could you give some examples on its talk page?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 14:04, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: null edit to your talk page

Your page was transcluded into Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. There was no apparent reason why this happeded. Sometimes this can happen if a user accidentally edits one of the templates that you have on your page then subseqeuntly fixes that error. Some pages just get "stuck" in the category. Purging the server cache does not fix the problem, as it is a database error, not a server error. The only fix for it is to perform an edit to the page. In such cases I perform a "null" edit, which means the resulting parsed page does not change, but it does get recompiled. This always works to remove the page from the category. If you look at my edit summary, I usually explain it fairly well; eg: "null edit to remove from candidates for speedy deletion". Thanks, JERRY contribs 15:15, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Shazam. Nice game for your boys there. Always glad to see the GoldenBoys crash and burn. Noble efforts all around. Good luck on the frozen tundra... Keeper | 76 00:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC) Sorry, we weren't able to suggest any articles for you. Something is probably wrong on our end.

It's really too bad that you can't enjoy a game in "La-la-Land", but still. anything can happen with a good road team. BTW, be careful not to insult anybody that I might favor come April. I can hit you with the sharp end of a mop now. You are, of course, completely free, in fact - encouraged - to say what you will about The Perennial Underachievers. Cheers :-) Keeper | 76 21:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Just saw your Manly comment. I think I shall WP:ABF here and consider that a personal attack. Now where's that block button?...Oh, there it is! What, can't you see it? It's right there next to the Delete and Protect buttons on top of your talkpage. Oh wait...</sarcasm>Keeper | 76 21:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

The Adventures of Food Boy

So I'm new to this whole wikipedia thing, but I added this page as a fan of the movie and because I noticed several links from actors who have entries on wikipedia that discussed this movie but it didn't have an entry. If there are 5 actors who have wikipedia pages who are in this movie, doesn't that alone make it a notable film? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mem59 (talkcontribs) 17:28, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Rikki Lake on the Labradoodle Page

Hi Dan,

Just a quick query on the Labradoodle page. I notice that you've restored the reference to Rikki's Goldendoodle under "Notable Owners". I wondered if that might be more appropriate on the Goldendoodle page?

Thank you :) 124.189.32.5 (talk) 20:43, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi again Dan,

I have cropped the picture you added to zoom in on the subject. I hope this is OK - please revert if not :)

Thank you 124.189.32.5 (talk) 21:55, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

RFA nom, adoption

Hey, long time since we last talked! Thanks for offering to nominate me for rfa. I have answered the questions but I would still prefer if we wait a couple more weeks until the beginning of February before doing this again. Also, I think that you have become experienced enough on Misplaced Pages that you can graduate from the adoption program! If you think you're ready to leave then just tell me, if you want to remain adopted, thats okay as well. Anyway, thanks for the nom and happy editing. See u later. :) --Hdt83 10:12, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Missy Hyatt

Please refrain from using insulting nicknames or making comments such as calling a living individual a "shrew" - it has no place in producing quality articles and is not conductive to what we do here and indeed goes against a number of our key policies (and against the spirit of BLP). --Fredrick day (talk) 18:42, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

This matter has been referred to WP:ANI. I would confirm that it is inappropriate to include contentious material in biographies of living people unless it is referenced by reliable third party sources, per WP:BLP. It is also uncivil to disparage other editors who are pointing out such concerns with edits. I recommend you address these matters if you wish to continue interacting on this website/encyclopedia.
