Taimak (born Taimak Guarriello on June 27, 1964) is an American martial artist, model and actor, best known for having starred in the film The Last Dragon.

Early life

Taimak has studied Chinese goju, goju-ryu, taekwondo and jujutsu. His name Taimak (pronouced "Tie Mock") is an Aztec name, which means - Striking Eagle. He was raised in New York and Europe.

Career

Cast in The Last Dragon, Taimak had no prior acting training or experience, and was taught on set. He later appeared as the lead male in Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" music video, Debbie Allen's "Special Look" video and on the TV show A Different World. Taimak has also worked with celebrities such Madonna. He also starred in play that toured the United States called Cheaters opposite a large cast of African-American stars.

He also starred in a hit Off-Broadway show in 2004 called Roadhouse The Comedy, based on the Patrick Swayze film Road House. Taimak has appeared in the 36 Crazyfists music video "Bloodwork" dressed as a White Ninja.

Taimak used to co-own a gym that he and his partner closed after three years, on the east side of Manhattan in New York city called "Fitness Concepts". He recently completed a new fitness DVD, available on his website called "Taimak FIT (Find Inner Transformation)".

Taimak was scheduled to appear in the upcoming Tyler Perry play. However, due to a conflict of interest, he will no longer be a part of the show. He is pursuing his acting career, developing a film with MOKI Entertainment called Repeat Offenders. He's coaches boxers and kickboxers periodically and living in New York City.
