Big Sand is a small crofting village in Highland, Scotland. It is situated on the shores of Loch Gairloch and is 4 miles from Gairloch village. As the name suggests it is situated beside a large, unspolit beach. Big Sand is also the name of a popular steel drum band from London which adopted it's name from Big Sand beach in Union Island where the band leader grew up.
