Makrisi is a small village, northeast of Megalopolis. Like most villages in the Peloponnese, it isn't very large. The few inhabitants that remain cultivate olive trees. The olive oil produced in the area is of top quality. Makrisi was devastated in the fires that swept through the area in August of 2007.
