The Wedding Singer is a romantic comedy film by Frank Coraci starring Adam Sandler as a wedding singer, and Drew Barrymore as the object of his affections. Robbie's backup singer, George, is a parody of Boy George.

Set in the 1980s, the film prominently features New Wave style music, as well as varied others from that era.

The Wedding Singer will be adapted into a Broadway musical, to premiere in Spring 2006. The lead character will be played by comedic songwriter Stephen Lynch.

In 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted The Wedding Singer the 43rd greatest comedy film of all time.
