Brendan Smyth
Hello. It is POV to say that his actions were "egregious" (Wordnet: conspicuously and outrageously bad or reprehensible). Misplaced Pages is not here to judge what is "outrageously bad"; we present information in an npov way and try to not abuse adjectives. You can leave it up to the reader to judge whether his actions were "egregious" (and especially whether they were the most egregious). I'm not defending his actions, but if we present the facts, then readers should be able to judge for themselves that he was egregious without us preaching it to them. 24.224.153.40 00:15, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Wikimedia UK/Wikimania 2006
Hi, this is a circular to Wikipedians in Ireland to draw your attention to Wikimedia UK, where the establishment of a local Wikimedia chapter for the United Kingdom (and possibly for the Republic of Ireland) is being discussed. See the talk page, as well as the mailing list; a meetup will take place to discuss matters in London in September, for anyone who can get there. On another topic, plans are being drawn up for a UK bid for Wikimania 2006, which would be conveniently close to Ireland. On the other hand, Dublin's bid was one of the final three last year - might we bid again? --Kwekubo 03:36, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

I was just about to start a battle over Image:NFQ-Ireland.png when I realised that Image:NFQ-Ireland.jpg was uploaded in its place some time ago, the latter been a superior image. You can withdraw your keep as I have done as their is an image available! Thanks. Djegan 18:47, 8 September 2005 (UTC)_JPG"> _JPG">

Hi Ali,
I've never accused you of being a sockpuppet of Rms125a (in fact I don't remember ever running into you before). I think Rms125a must be a little confused...

Intresting Ayyavazhi Family
Hai Ali, there are intresting articles about Ayyavazhi, a new religion on both mythology and religiosity. Misplaced Pages is rich with this topic in English, but poor in other languages. Since french is a leading language in Misplaced Pages it is better to translate the contents on this Ayyavazhi family to french. - Paul Raj
Old Business
5 October 2005,
Ali-oops, why don't you like my politics?? I am not the one who erected a statue to a Nazi, Sean Russell, in North Dublin?? I am not the one who told de Valera to stay neutral during the seminal battle of good and evil of the entire millennium?? I am not the one who refused to let refugees in, which would have saved thousands (or many thousands) of lives (but nobody in Ireland seems to care about that since they were Jewish lives), unlike such good countries as Bulgaria, Denmark, Albania, Dominican Republic, the UK (yes, the UK--Hail Britannia), and even Japan, who tried and saved as many lives as they could while de Valera was preparing a list of the names of virtually all the Jews in the Free State to turn over in case of an Axis invasion. By the way, why don't you check out the website for www.stormfront.org (many of your compatriots and co-religionists have a lot of interesting things to say that you might or might not like hearing)!!
Love

- I am not Catholic, as you imply. I don't care what your politics is. I never told deV anything, seeing as I was a child when he died. I'm certainly no fan of the man nor am I of McQuaid. What I do care about is your ridiculously POV and unencyclopedic edits, the fact that you refuse point-blank to enter into dialog about your edits (you're right and that's it!) and the fact that you use sockpuppets to revert other editors to allow your sectarian POV to bubble back up to the surface. As DJ pointed out, there are plenty of other editors out there who will revert your nonsense any time they encounter it. - Ali-oops 23:58, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- I know, so it's a kind of Beckettian microcosm we live in. I revert, they reverse the revert, and I revert again. I find it very difficult to believe you are not Roman Catholic considering that you are from the "Southwest" of Ireland, but whatever. You did not of course address any of the horrific things I pointed out in my previous email, and there are so many more from the beginning of the 20th century till almost its end. Check out that website, www.stormfront.org -- it will prove enlightening, I believe. I was trying to cut and paste something heinous form the Irish stormfront commentaries, but I lost it so I cannot paste it herein and I have to go, but I'll try to copy/paste another time. Irish Catholics censored American movies and television programs for almost 30 years in the 20th century, and I will not allow them to censor me.
- Love,
- You didn't hear a word of what I just said.
- I'm not Catholic. If you knew me in RL, you'd know this for certain.
- Do not confuse location with adherence to a belief system. That's just being silly.
- Copy/pasting from other websites is forbidden on WP, mainly due to copyright issues.
- All I'm interested in is in the factual accuracy of edits and NPOV. That's all.
- You are not being censored. Stick to the facts and you'll be fine.
- Quit your sock-puppetry and stop vandalising user pages.
Questions
- Who is DJ (Djegan??)
- What is RL??
- How dare you say I don't stick to the facts--show me evidence of anything untruthful or unfactual :
- that I have ever posted, or else withdraw the comment and apologize
- Why is race and religion baiting acceptable on Fenian Swine's discussion page??
Can I open a username account called "Papist vermin" or "Irish scum"?--please let me know!!

- Why is he allowed to use a provocative and offensive username, which Misplaced Pages instructions clearly
- direct the would be-Wikipedian NOT TO USE (Do I have to copy and paste that for you also??)
- Why was my Username "Taigkiller" (yes, you know what it means) immediately blocked by "Jtdirl" as
- derogatory, while Fenian Swine's has not ever been??
- I am going to discuss this with the WikiDon as this is clearly an Irish conspiracy to block the
- ugly (or uglier in some cases) truths regarding John Charles McQuaid, Eamon de Valera, Michael
- Cusack, et al; all of my edits being factual, and in some cases footnoted or quoted directly
- from the Irish Constitution (McQuaid), (excerpt from) Ulysses (Michael Cusack), (quotes from)
- Tim Pat Coogan (in his book on the IRA) re his clear biases, and in the case
- of the heinous de Valera simply facts that are readily available and which expand on the soft-
- soaping of his more horrific behavior (i.e. denying refugees entry in Eire during WWII, thus
- causing thousands, perhaps many thousands, of lives to be lost (this was reported by Andy
- Pollak in the Irish Times some years ago, and no I don't remember the actual date).
- This has nothing to do with NPOV, it has to do with dealing with the brutal honesty that :important issues require even at the cost of offending the Irish Catholic censors and :apologeticists.
Scottish Wikipedians' notice board
Since joining Misplaced Pages recently I have learnt an awful lot, and one of those things is the value of teamwork. It has become increasingly apparent to me that there are absolutely tons of people out there devoted to editing the Scottish articles, but we communicate only haphazardly. To begin to attempt to remedy this, I have initiated a notice board for all Scoto-fans!
You can find it using this shortcut: WP:SCOWNB (yes, I know that it ain't very "short", but our nordic neighbours had first call on WP:SWNB).
Please sign up and post notices, or at least Watch the page.--Mais oui! 15:33, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
From User talk:Ali-oops/Images
I am reposting this here so you don't miss it:
Burning Man image
Did you take the Burning Man image? Currently, attendees at Bman who want to take photos and put them to potential commercial use (such as the GFDL allows) you have to get special permission of the Bman media people. Was this the case to your knowledge in 1999 when you took the photo? I would not be surprised if these restrictions were more recent, but I am trying to make sure that we have permission to use all the images on Burning Man so I would appreciate any info you have on your picture. Thanks! Kit 03:08, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
