Your message

Hi there. I've responded to the message you sent me; you can find it on my talk page. —Cleared as filed. 23:51, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Welcome

Hi there. Welcome to Misplaced Pages! I was scanning the recent changes and saw your new username. I'm reading Dracula right now, so it caught my attention. I hope you like it here and stick around. If you want, you can drop us a note at Misplaced Pages:New user log to introduce yourself.

I see you have figured out how to talk with other editors, which will go a long way toward helping resolve any disagreements. It looks like you have some of the basics figured out, but you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of information you'll want to get you oriented on Misplaced Pages.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.

If you have any other questions about the project then check out Misplaced Pages:Help or add a question to the Help desk. You can also ask me a question on my talk page.

Happy editing, Tom Harrison 00:08, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

That was quick!

Thanks for the invite and the tutorial. Glad you caught the Dracula reference. Vampire stories are a favorite of mine, with Stoker's classic being tops on my list. Shelley's Frankenstein is equally loved. I happilly re-read both about 6 months ago.

Being somewhat of an html web geek, I mostly figured out the editing process (via trial and error, and looking at code from other posts), but I am really lost on all the talk/discussion pages (afraid to accidently post over something), and I learned quickly that I was re-writing pages I had only meant to edit. I am an organizational freak so I am sure I'll fit in, eventually. I may not be so good with research (other than that which I know from personal experience), but I can help sort through all kinds of messy junk and make it look neater. I am a bit afraid to start a sand box, gotta check that out further before actually jumping in. I hope it shows up in my tab menu, otherwise I'll be making a page that gets lost in cyberspace.

Eventually I would like to start a page on Alphonse Mucha, or search out the existing one and see what I can add. Aside from Joseph Vargo, he is my favorite artist and one I actually know enough about to make a post.

Hi. You may want to put your note above on Tom's talk page. When people send out alot of those 'new user greetings' it is sometimes difficult to check back and see if any of them were answered. Though, in this case, he personalized it so maybe he will. There IS an existing page for Alfons Mucha. I saw over on User talk:Cleared as filed that you had created a page on Joseph Vargo, but it had been deleted. Based on a Google search I'd say he likely IS significant enough to have a page. You might want to take a look at Misplaced Pages:The perfect article for tips on what should be included. You could also pattern it on the format of the Mucha article above. The Misplaced Pages:sandbox is a page that automatically gets blanked out on a regular basis... it is a good place to make edits to see how something works. There is a link to the sandbox towards the bottom of the page any time you are editing an article. Some people also create their own sandbox sub-page for experimenting. Good luck. --CBDunkerson 01:52, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

Vargo

I think you have plenty of information to put this page up without having to fear deletion. Some suggestions for further editing: bold the article subject's name in the first sentence (per the Misplaced Pages:Guide to layout, add more wiki-links, et cetera. Reading through the main Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style should give you a general overview of common standards. You don't need to format everything this way before putting the article up, but it should give you an idea of the types of changes others are likely to make. --CBD C 13:39, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Nox Arcana

Hi again, I know you got 'bit' on your first attempt, but don't let that stop you from being bold. Given what you now know about the process you can probably go ahead and submit pages directly. If you are worried about them getting deleted before you can put in enough info you might try putting a '{{underconstruction}}' tag on it so people know it is still being worked on. If you prefer developing articles in your own userspace before moving them you might create a User:Blooferlady/Sandbox page where you can create these and leave your main user page for other stuff.

The Nox Arcana article generally looks good... you've got all the basics. I'd suggest cutting down the section on Joseph Vargo and linking to his article. Misplaced Pages tends to have much shorter 'summary' sections on related topics than paper encyclopedias because of the ease of cross-linking to the information. If you aren't planning an article on Piotrowski then the current section on him is probably about right. --CBD C 11:39, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Removal of APPROVED article

You removed an article that had been totally rewritten and was approved by two other senior editors. Please revert the history for Joseph Vargo and read the associated discussions with Blooferlady

Refuse. Article was deleted validly in process, and there is zero support at its listing on Misplaced Pages:Deletion review for its restoration. Please take your self-promotion elsewhere. —Cryptic (talk) 03:27, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Blooferlady; I think this is unreasonable. The article clearly belongs here. Let me look into it and see if there is some procedural thing that needs to be done. Tom Harrison 03:46, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
