It has been suggested that this article be merged with R. Krishnamourthy#The famous Varieties, that brought name and fame to Sri. Krishnamourthy. (Discuss) Proposed since October 2007.

Suvin, is one of the extra-long category of Cotton varieties that have been developed by Sri. R. Krishnamourthy, and his associates. It is the best among them. This Interspecific variety, (Barbadese X Hirsutum ) is the longest, and finest Cotton fibre, developed by the scientists of India. It's traits are similar to the Egyptian varieties, but the acreage for this cotton is restricted to a small area, only in Tamil Nadu. The cost of production is also very high. Suvin is facing these hurdles.
