Top 10 disam increases

Hello. I am an administrator who lives in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. I work as a phone-based tech support person. My main goal on Misplaced Pages is to make it as clean and concise as possible. I've created a few pages, but for the most part, I do a lot of copyediting and cleanup work.

I am well known around here for doing a lot of different stuff. I like variety. My main focus right now is the disamming of pages. I patrol the pages on the right just about every day.

My proudest achievement on here? Probably creating and populating the Category:Country subdivision navigational boxes and Category:Political leaders navigational boxes categories (they are red because they have since been moved to better names). I've also done major work in the television, sports and history template categories.

I've been surprised by the number of people who don't seem to know what disamming is. It boils down to this. We have disambiguation articles. They are basically a listing of articles with similar names (such as POP and Pop music). Pages should very rarely link to those pages. The only time they really should link to those pages is if the link is referring to the name itself (such as referring to where "America" comes from). So disamming is simply changing links to disambiguation pages to wherever the link should go to, such as pop music. That's all it is. It's a minor edit for the most part. If I am incorrect in a disam edit, please FIX THE LINK instead of just reverting me or undoing the edit. Otherwise, the problem hasn't gone away and it's just left for the next person to try to fix it. I do try to be as careful as I can be but of course I'm not perfect.

And oh yeah. I do not use a bot. I do use Navigational popups, but all edits are manual and all decisions are mine.

As of July 2009, I am 10th on the list of Wikipedians by edits.

I tend to be online overnight US time. I work 3rd shift. So I tend to be on from 04:00 GMT to about 13:00 GMT. So that's the best time to catch me.
